As a Philadelphia fan from NJ I don't claim to speak for all fans from Philly, but I would say:
NHL: Bobby Clarke
NBA: Julius "Dr. J" Erving
MLB: Too many...can't choose
NFL: They won the Super Bowl yet none of the athletes seemingly are "beloved"

For the region that I live, would definitely have to be Hank Aaron, followed by Chipper Jones.

I think Dale Earnhardt Jr grew up near Charlotte, could live anywhere else but still lives in the area.

I was going to say Bernard Lagat but he is still running! So maybe Teddy Bruschi, though I dunno if he's particularly beloved.
