Morning EMH at Animal Kingdom-worth it?

Hello Everyone!

I have an upcoming trip (61 days out!), and in preparation for FP+ selection I am finalizing my daily plans. It's been a while since I've been more than 2 days (which were awesome, no sleep, college trips), and I am taking my husband for his first trip! We are going for the laid back Disney style trip, but we do want to have a great time. So, I'm trying to maximize my planning efforts now.

Now, back to my question. After reading on a few forums, I've noticed that unless you get to Animal Kingdom an hour before rope drop (and don't have a FP), that the lines for anything in Pandora are crazy. In addition to this, I've seen that the park can be extra busy on an EMH day. In an effort to make sure my husband will want to go back, I don't want to do the 6:30 am bus rides to parks (maybe next trip?!?!). So, would it be better to brave EMH or go for a regular open day? I know it will be moderately crowded in April, but I'm trying to minimize crowds and maximize time management. Fingers crossed I can grab a FoP FP!!!

Thanks for reading and providing advice!!

PS: To save a thread, what are your thoughts on night EMH at Epcot??

Ive always found EMH's beneficial although I do tend to favor the evening ones. With AK being the park guests are being drawn to to experience the new land and FoP, I'd say an early EMH will still be your best option. EP in the evening is fabulous, it enhances the atmosphere and I'd encourage that as as an EMH as well.

I love morning EMH at AK! For some reason it always feels hotter at AK than any other park and that hour in the park before humidity gets worse is priceless to me :) And I have to agree, Epcot at night is wonderful. The glowing sidewalks around Spaceship Earth made me as excited as a young child. MK at night is my absolute favorite though.

We take advantage of EMH's as much as possible and find them to be extremely useful. That said if you are not going to be able to get the DH on a bus in time for the EMH's I might skip that park for that day. We will typically get there early and get a ride or two (maybe 3) in before officially open then we have our FP's to use after official open. If your getting there after the official open there won't be any benefit to being there and the crowds will be heavier after 9 or 10 than on a non EMH day.

last trip i did EMH while the girls slept in for AK. I got 2 rides on Everest, almost 3 and a couple rides on dinosaur. Both were walk on.

We did AK this November during Jersey Week. I brought my family (wife and 2 kids) and my inlaws, and i am definitely one of those people who push to use every last minute in the park. We had gotten locked in a FP for the Avatar River ride in the afternoon, which left us without the ability to FP Flight. We took the 6:30 bus from the contemporary (i got some grumbling but overall nothing too bad) and when the rope dropped we sprinted over to Flight. Where we ended up in line put us according to the signs/ride personnel with about a 45 minute wait. In reality it was only about 30 minutes. HOWEVER, but the time we had waiting in line for 15 minutes, the wait time had jumped to 135 Minutes, and but the time we had finished the ride, the wait time was being shown as 200 minutes. To me if your have the opportunity to use EMH, definitely go for it
