Well....Things can happen WITHOUT rumor too....They could just build something and there could never be a rumor of what it was until an annoucement was made.

EPCOT doesn't have much to do with "the future"...except that it will go downhill ;) ... it has to do more with "Discovery"...yet CoP is discovery...but more...Progress...:D

Why does everyone keep saying the Beastly Kingdom rumor is dead. It's not dead. Steve has said before that he has very good evidence that Beastly Kingdom is being planned. In fact hasn't it already been green lighted. I remember someone saying it was although I wonder what their defintion of green lighted is.

Green lighted as in it is seriously being looked into or green lighted as in it's official.

I know that it is not official but I mean after all these years and the logo and the land cleared behind rainforest and the dragon fountain and senses of Beastly Kingdom all in Camp Minnie Mickey. I will be very sad if they do not decide to place Beastly Kingdom in.

Hey Steve, could you give us an update on how things are coming with Beastly Kingdom whether it is still being planned or has been pushed back or has been dropped completely.

Thx.

Those rumors make me giggle

- An Epcot WS pavilion with an attraction, yet Switzerland (Matterhorn) wasn't mentioned? That has been a long-time favorite rumor that's been around since approximately forever
- Geyser Mountain's been around forever. It would be nice to see it happen, but I don't know how they'd make it anyting close to a reasonably long ride. For all purposes, it's a themed S&S Space-shot.
- Jungle Cruise moves to AK? What would go in its place? That's a LOT of land to fill, unless <bad rumor>that's where they're putting Fire Mountain</bad rumor>
- MK's CoP to Epcot? CoP doesn't look too much into the future at all. And grizzlyhall is right about Epcot and the future. Epcot doesn't look into the future much at all. It focuses on technologies and exploration.
- MK's HoP to replace American Adventure? American Adventure is an amazing attraction both historically and technologically. To replace it with HoP is absurd.

You know wat mst of these rumors look like? It looks like somebody wanted to clear out the MK so they can fund somewhere to put their favorite rumored attractions. There have always been rumors of HoP and CoP being removed, so these people found a logical place to put them in hopes of salvaging them.

CoP could NEVER move to Epcot....the mechanics under it are simply huge and if they dismantle it at all anymore, it won't be coming back.....sorry :(

This guy sounds like he makes half of them up. Some are old, some are current projects, and some are just un-concevable. I am still looking there for inspiration, but it seems really dry and dead. Plus, most is echoed here on wdwmagic.com and other sites such as screamscape.com.

No. I think all they did was move the anamatronics and some of the set pieces. I'm 99.9% certain that the MK CoP building was new in '71 or '72 (whenever CoP debuted).

The Disneyland CoP building is, in fact, still intact. It was "America Sings" from mid-'70's to mid-'80's. Then they pulled most of the cute singing animal anamatronics from it and put them into DL's Splash Mountain (saved themselves on budget). Then it sat empty for about a decade while Imagineers tried to come up with something to put into it (sounds similar to the plight of certain submarines, yes?)

Right now, the old CoP still revolves and is a defacto smaller version of Innoventions. I think all they did was replace some old mechanics to get it up and running again.

Personally, I wish they'd bring back some kind of sit down revolving show. We did CoP on our trip to WDW a month ago and really loved it--even the little ones in our party. Can't say the same about Innoventions.

I read a Jim Hill article a long time ago about disbanded plans to add a CoP-type attraction in the Japan pavillion called "Meet the World". This attraction is also at Tokyo Disneyland right now. I read that they had the infastructure all ready for the installation and suddenly they dropped the plans for it.

It can be moved, but I don't think it would be possible.
