Now this is for Disneyland, but i'm sure WDW will get it's fair share too. But adding Jack to SEVERAL show scenes, including the mayor-dunk? That seems a bit much, i was hoping for just the jail-dog scene, or maybe a standalone Jack with his own scene. The transforming Barbossa sounds cool though!

Interesting news, IMO the morphing of the skeletons is the coolest. Now I just hope they don't overdue on Capn Jack and "Stitch-ize" it! Now to get back to California again to see it!!!

Last I heard, what Al is talking about is just for Disneyland. WDW would get a much lighter dose of Sparrow and Barbossa.

Too bad...I like the Disneyland plan, myself.

Darn... I wish Disneyland's wouldn't be affected by the movie -- it's the original. On the other hand, I would not mind seeing the changes done in the WDW version, which is already inferior.

P.S. Disneyland's Miss Daisy is so clean...

I think the major rehab will be exclusive for DL because the budget of this project was long been approved being part of the second phase of 50th celebration. (along with new TOT drop sequence, Rock it Mt/Space Mt night time version, and Monster Inc the ride). 2006 would be another exciting year for DL.

Grizz, from what you've seen, what's Al Lutz's "batting average" when it comes to rumors? Does he do any better than Jim Hill?

Hmm...I've only been reading him recently, but as far as news and rumors, he seems pretty accurate. Anyone have evidence that would prove otherwise?

This is from MousePlanet from last week's park update:
It has been confirmed, but we've been lax in saying so, that the Pirates of the Caribbean refurbishment has been pushed out to spring 2006 and expanded to almost three and a half months, from March 6 to June 16. The details of any show changes to be installed are not known, though speculation runs rampant.

I say I believe this rumor.

I agree with Grizz on saying that I wish Disneyland's version of Pirates doesn't get affected by the movie, because it's the original. I think it should stay the way it is now. But it WDW got this revamp, I wouldn't be too upset. But oh well, we'll see what happens.

There is nothing wrong with Plussing. It is still the same ride.

But on WDW, I really hope the rehab for that happens with the extra scenes added. If you do go back up the lift in the future, I will be really pleased.

Exactly and the improvements made to Disneyland's Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion certainly do not dissapoint. I'm sure whatever is added to POTC will be tasteful.

I agree. If they're going to do tie-ins with the movie do it to the WDW version, not DL's. DL's is the original, and shouldn't be touched. I remember hearing that the movie tie in would only happen at night or during the halloween season, but not permanently. It makes me mad, soon there might not be a single attraction at DL that's not themed to movies!

I really think there should only be one Jack in the ride. The town scene is one continuous scene, so having multiple Jacks is not possible unless you ruin any sort of perception of reality. I think having him in the cell is fine. I think having Elizabeth Swann being one of the running ladies would be good too. I am wondering if the Captain in the ship is going to be replaced by Barbosa and every few seconds monnlight will change him into his skeletal appearance.

Probably not, looking at Remember. I'd say have Barbossa be part of the skeleton caves at the opening, doing new narration and then appearing toward the end of that section.

I was so sure WDW was going to get the POTC movie makeover instead of/before Disneyland's version. Is it possible they are going to do both the DL and WDW version simultanously?

Plussing is great i.e. HM or JC, I just wish the original Marc Davis show scenes would stay in tact in the original... we shall see...
