I believe she is staying off property because she plans to make her fastpass selections at 30 days. @maria143, if you are not staying at a Disney resort you will have to make your fastpass selections one day at a time, not all at once.

And at 30 midway mania and mine train are likely going to be tough.

Wow, I didn't know that staying off property means you have to make FP+ day by day. I guess they are really pushing those staying on property perks.

You don't have to do it "day by day" -- you can wait until 30 days before your last day and book them all at once.

Anyway, how would Disney know your "length of stay" if you are staying off property? I don't see how else they would do it besides having each day be open 30 days before that day unless you are staying on property.

Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up.

Thank you for correcting me on this. I've always stayed at WDW so did not realize there were different fastpasses situations.

they don't need to know your length of stay, they just won't let you get fass passes more than 30 days in advance, unless you stay onsite.

If you stay onsite, you can book FP+ 60 days before your first day of the trip and book them for the length of your stay at the resort.

If you are not staying onsite, you can book FP+ 30 days in advance, period. So, if you are staying in Florida for (say) a week, on 30 days out from your first day, you can only book that first day for FP+. 30 days before your second day, you can book that day. And so on. So, for a 7 day stay, you won't be able to book the 7th day until 6 days after you booked the first day of FP+. In that scenario, you could wait until 24 days before your first day (which would be 30 days before your last day in the parks) and book all 7 days at once.

The basic point being that Disney doesn't know your "length of stay" unless you are staying onsite. So, it only offers "length of stay" as a component of the FP+ booking process to people staying onsite. Everyone else is a flat 30 days.
