Every time I go to WDW in the fall, the Liberty Square Riverboat is closed. WDW's site says its down Sept 17th-20th but who knows, it will probably be longer. :( I haven't been able to ride it since I was a little kid.

The Liberty Belle (and the steam trains, for that matter), must undergo an yearly boiler inspection. She came back from rehab early in Spetember last year, so she is due for hers. Sometimes they will Teak the decks during this period as well.

That's a good thing then because I've seen first hand what can happen when a locomotive boiler bursts! It's not pretty!

Boiler inspection already happened in the begining of March, so it can't be that.

In 1981 we accidently dropped a pair of sunglasses into the water that the Liberty Belle uses.
Maybe they are going to drain the area and try to find them.

It's more interesting than you might initially think.
You look at it and say, "Well, it just goes in a circle around Tom Sawyer Island."
It does but in doing so you see things from the 'back side', from a different view. The exra perspective on the Haunted Mansion is worth the trip.

:)

I'll have to see about talking someone into doing it with me next time. You know we can so stuck in our rute of things we HAVE to see that we end up leaving off a lot.

It's doubtful it will be down for long. It had an unexpectedly long rehab in 2005 and a large part of it was rebuilt/restored once they got it up and realized how bad the damage was. I can't imagine anything huge has gone wrong in such a short time.

(Or at least I hope...I have a relative who I am bringing in Nov and this is literally the only attraction they care about, as they too have never been to MK when it is open.)

Maybe they will be removing the Riverboat along with the wand. We all know the Riverboat screws up the perspectives and architecture in Liberty Square. Ole Belle never fitted the mystical magical "spirit" of The Magic Kingdom.

For anyone who in certain threads was looking for the definition of the word "troll" lately, the above post is a perfect example. Has nothing to do with the topic at hand, someone only posting to try to create a stir.

Ouch, never been called a troll before (been here for 5 years to boot). Most people know I'm doing it all in good clean fun. If I was looking to annoy people, why did I put a :drevil: after it. That denotes I'm joking. People seem to have a real thin skin over this whole wand business.

Most of my posts are generally of the sarcastic wise-guy mentality.

No, I don't have a thin skin over the wand business. It just seems that this topic has brought about many people's true colors. If you agree with the removal, great. If you don't agree with it, great. But the people who have made postings like yourself, making fun of whatever side, are the worst of all.

I called you a troll because, unlike yourself, I made a relevant comment in this thread regarding the topic. You didn't, you just made your "joke" that was completely irrelevant and didn't add anything to the discussion. You've done this in several, unrelated threads now. That's what a troll is - someone who makes an entrance in a thread to make a snarky joke intended to make fun of or incite argument over another topic.

You certainly aren't the only one, but it has become clear in the last few days who are actually the people who just enjoy arguing for the sake of it, or who make fun of people for being happy with a decision the Walt Disney Company has made, and those that just stick around to be snarky about whatever topic of the moment they think they can get people riled up over.

That's just my opinion, I'm sure yours will differ. It seems as if YOU are obsessed with the wand, if one were to wander through your postings in the last few days, not those that wished it removed. The sad part is, you don't seem to care either way, like those I described above you just seem to revel in creating strife over it. I've been known to get into heated arguments when passionate about something, but to make the kind of posts you and people like you have in the last few days have been extremely revealing of the true character of a small segment around here who doesn't argue or discuss over passion, but simple need of attention, it seems.

Now, my apologies to the OP for taking this so far off topic.

I knew Kevin was just joking around, he wasn't vicious about it. Lighten up, I've been knocked and dragged down and everything in between and I got so upset I couldn't even finish reading those posts, but believe me when i tell you they were vicious and mean. He was just totally joking there is a big difference.

Okay, my definition of funny and troll varies from yours then. I'll agree to disagree with you. My whole intention when I post stuff like that is to LIGHTEN THE MOOD and bust chops in a friendly way. Some people get my humor, plenty others don't. There's a reason I litter my posts with :drevil:  :ROFLOL: that alone should tip you off to my true intentions (ie - to have FUN with whatever the subject matter is).

Let's kiss and make up, um, I mean shake :D

Kenny, I guess being a former Long Islander myself. we're on the same wavelength. NY'ers are ball busters by nature ad I'm a extreme case even for a NY'er.

Too bad you not a Yankee & Giants fan.

I apologize for my super-critical posting; it's just that I have stopped reading the wand threads to get away from the hate of the "haters" and insulting people just for the sake of it, and when I felt it runneth over into this thread I felt like I had to say something.

We can shake to make up if you want, but a kiss is fine too, LOL.
