More Changes to SGE?

While I was at work today there were some upper management people that were going on SGE with regular guests to see what their reactions would be. Well from what I saw they weren't too pleased with what they saw. I didn't necessarily hear what they were saying but I saw enough of their facial expressions and body language to indicate that they weren't happy. Maybe this means there will be yet another rehab to this doomed attraction!

screw another rehab, lets bring back AE. everyone loved it.

Well even I will have to admit that not everyone loved AE. But it is sort of neat to know that AE is more popular RIGHT NOW, among WDW fans, than it may have ever been in the past. Stitch is here to stay, though.

I actually think Stitch belongs to Tomorrowland. I'd much rather see Alien Encounter at the studios and in its supposed original "A L I E N" theme (as in the movie with Sigourney Weaver).

I wouldn't be shocked if they would keep CoP open longer if SGE is struggling.

I actually think Stitch belongs to Tomorrowland it was just wrong that he had to take over such an amazing WDW original. They should have used Stitch at a different TL attraction.

While I loved ExtraTERRORestrial, I'd much rather see Alien Encounter at the studios and in its supposed original "A L I E N" theme (as in the movie with Sigourney Weaver).

Upper management rode a ride to see our reactions to it! May I ask when was the last time they did this. Is it just me or do they maybe want to make sure sge can be fixed to have staying power. To think they are starting to care enough to ride the rides to see our reactions gives me hope for other "problems" like the tr:unm that still seems to be a bit rough around the edges w/ me. Its so nice to see them going to lenghs like this to keep us happy.

Well, after seeing SGE this last week I can say the updates have helped... but more could be done. I think the hard part is following him around the room becasue it is easy to miss him.

I would have liked more of an adventure type ride for Stitch, but I'll take SGE. I do think it's awesome that they're fixing it up.

I second the vote to bring back AE. They should have just made improvements to that ride instead of making it hell as it stands today

I agree, I enjoyed SGE. I thought it was hilarious and the AA Stitch was incredible. And the part where he's running around the room with the cannons following him was awesome but just a little hard to follow. Overall I thought it was a good ride. Oh yeah, And the Chili-Dog smell was revolting but thats the way it was designed.

I never cared for Alien Encounter, I thought it was way too intense for a MK TL ride. I do like the idea of the A L I E N ride at Studios. I think that would have worked very well, especcially since Studios has more of the thrilling attractions. I'll admit that it was quite a feat in Imagineering and it scared me to death. I'm sad to see it gone completely even though I didn't like it, but i'm very happy Stitch is there now. I think Stitch fits in better, even though hes not getting the best reviews.

What kind of takes me out of it are the shoulder restraints. It's Stitch, not a huge drooling alien. I mean, the restraints were key in AE because it was to make you afraid. When I went "on" SGE I was like "OK, being locked here really makes no sense at all" (unless they specify WHY you're locked there and I just can't remember).

Too bad Buzz is already a shooting ride because I think ideally that's what SGE should have been. An awesome pre-show with the Stitch animatronic and then the ride would be chasing after him and trying to zap him with the "plasma cannon". Much more fun and much more Stitch than sitting restrained hearing him run around.

So basically, IMO, the Stitch concept is good but the entire attraction was the wrong way to go about it. Guess it was just a way to save $ and space. Oh well.

Although I loved AE, I've accepted its never coming back. Fix SGE and continue the rehabs until you get it right. Might as well since it will be there for awhile....

I went on SGE for the first time last week and I didn't like it at all. The AA was great, but I thought the show itself was noisy and scary. There was one kid in the room screaming, "GET ME OUT OF HERE!!" and another kid that looked somewhat scared until Stitch spit directly on him and then he became positively terrified. He was trying to get out of his restraint to run for the hills. It was hard to enjoy the show because of all of the screaming, scared kids. 2 thumbs down.

They claimed that the Shoulder Harnesses were "Scanning Units" for scanning your Genetic Code to protect you from the Cannons. They could have done better explaining them.
