So how are you people out there, wondering about what's happening with this "Monsters Inc" ride? Still stressed about what it may be, and how it goes with the tomorrowland theme? Well, stress no more. I've searched throughout the different threads on the boards, and haven't found anything for this, but I can tell you that what I've read so far has kinda been only half the truth.

Yes, there will be a Monsters Inc. ride placed in Tomorrowland where the Skyway To Tomorrowland building used to be, but it isn't called "The Laugh Floor" and it has nothing to do with interacting with Mike and Sully like you can with Crush.

They're actually doing something like they are with the Finding Nemo Ride. This is sort of a sequel to Monsters Inc. just like how Finding Nemo is getting a ride that will be a sequel to movie.

Go check here for the walk through of the ride. ^_^ I hope you enjoyed the laughter in it as much as I did:

He is and he posted the same video on his podcast. It was an entry he made to some sort of Imaginiering contest.

I personally dont think this is creative enough to make it anywhere. It uses too many references from other rides, which is cheap and unamusing. The door transitions between each scene is boring. I like the idea of an interactive ride much better (like Crush), but as an actual ride..it would be fantastic. This just doesnt cut it.

Im sorry to be harsh, but if there is gonna be ne Monsters Inc ride in Tomorrowland it better be out of this world.

That was rickys' project he did a few years ago. If you listen to the past few weeks of his pod cast he talks all about it. It is not confirmed...heck that is just a idea he had a few years ago that he said was not his best work. Again this is NOT CONFIRMED it is just a project. If you read the info next to the video it tells it all. Why would anyone think it is offical?

I like a few things in this creation..

I like the idea that the one door opens are you see another ride vehicle doing the same thing on the other track on the other side.. like woah hello there! That would be funny..

I also like other ride references. Would be funny to fake like your about to go to the twilight zone's tower of terror, etc.

Believe it or not, Ricky won 2nd place in the WDI Imagi-Nations design competiton.

This is NOT what is going into Tomorrowland. This is the project that Ricky did for the competiton. If you want to learn more about it, and the competiton, download the last month or so of his podcast, Inside the Magic: http://www.distantcreations.com/insidethemagic/

LMAO. Too funny. I knew what that video was going to be before I clicked on it. As others have pointed out, it was a fan creation for a contest that's been around for what, two years?

Going into the Timekeeper is a Monsters Inc. show...hasn't this already been confirmed (if not offically announced)?

This thread is funny. ;)

The video in question is ONLY the video I produced for the Walt Disney Imagineering ImagiNations competition back in 2003. It did earn me 2nd place in the competition but does not mean it is getting built.

Enjoy.

i actually really enjoyed that! i think that would be a great ride, especially with the references to other rides! a big idea in monsters inc was that you would travel anywhere between doors, so if this was going on in wdw, why not bounce around between rides?

ok,now its question time with bassman
  1. is this an official announcement/rumor or a annonamouse (sp?) rumour.
  2. this sound like a good ride but the part about the hitchhicking ghosts and IASW seem a little far fetched to me?.
  3. if this truelly is a strong possibility, what is going on in the old time keeper building?.
  4. this sounds very spiderman like to me, is that the general concept.
i like the idea though,i like the idea of themeing the building to look like the Monsters inc factory.

I saw this project a while ago. It'd get 9/10 for presentation but 2 for the ride itself. It seems a very static, derivative ride, with a thrown together plot. Maybe I'm a bit jealous of the cool flythrough, but you've gotta admit I'm right. Bassman, I'm gonna look at your idea now. Ready to be impressed, lol.
