While walking into the Studios yesterday my wife and I got a change to talk to one of the behind the scene engineers (he/she seemed very credible to me and was very detailed in her/his job description) who was more than happy to talk about the park's future. He/She confirmed to us that the Monsters Inc coaster is not only planned but the space it is going to reside in is under construction/tear down right now. Also he/she said that a Radiator Springs Ride and a Cars redo of the Lights Motor Action were in the plan to be complete by 2011/12 but these were dependant on the economy of Disney. She/he also mentioned that Sounds Dangerous (we were having our conversation in front of it) was probably going away due to continued low attendance.

Take it how you want but it was a very cool conversation.:ROFLOL:

With another coaster, that pretty much seals DHS as the thrill capital of WDW! It is supposed to be another E-Ticket?

Well do you consider TSM a D or an E? I'm thinking (and this is just my opinion) that we're looking at another D and along the same scale as TSM....not quite on the scale of RnR but definitely enough to grab ppls attention...esp considering everything we've heard about this is that it's a family coaster. They can't make it TOOO thrilling...but I'm anticipated some pretty immersive theming! I'm still hoping for the flying door scene! :D

TSM, in my opinion, is a D-Ticket. All I can hope for is that Monsters Inc is nothing like Barnstormer! Any well done addition to WDW at this point is welcome in my book.

haha...Barnstormer is a sad tribute to my favorite of the Fab 5. :( The Flying Unicorn knocks Barnstormer out of the water...sadly...

This would be totally sweet!!!:sohappy: My DH and family have been saying for awhile that they needed to do something with cars. My DH and I and his family have also said that they need to open up a store called Radiator Springs Auto N More. Soooo many of us are such HUGE Disney fans, but it's hard to find things for your car anywhere. Alot of it is Tink, Pooh, and Mickey(which is fine) but not everyone wants those three. Think about all of the covers, decals, windshield wipers, etc you could have!!!!:p:sohappy: I'd go nuts!!!

But, this would be very cool if the had a ride about something like that!!

That info does seem reasonable, though it's not possible for Radiator Springs Racers to open by 2011/12. That would occur later. They've already started on the DCA version and that's set for 2012--they haven't even cleared land for that ride at the studios yet. Still, if that attraction is successful, it's a shoe-in for the Studios. It is true that they are currently working at the future site of the Monsters, Inc. Coaster, though, and for the record, Disney considers every one of its attractions to be "family attractions", even Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Expedition Everest...

With WDW's cheap and lazy reputation of late, I would not hold my breath on a LMA make over or a Radiator Springs addition anytime soon. This is especially true with the current economy. I do think a Monster Inc Coaster is coming to Stage 1/Pixar Place. However, how soon is the real question.

I like everything mentioned except the Cars redo of Lights Motors Action. I know I'm probably in the minority, by I like the show the way it is.

I have to agree with you 100%. The only way it would make sense at this point to build a new attraction is the cost of materials and such maybe cheaper.
