Hello,

I was wondering if there is a foum for Monorail Toys (layouts, track, accessories, etc) I have met people who are interested, but seeking others to discuss the hobby (Resources, layout plans, people who model the Disney Theme Parks).

Thanks

Bruce

There is a forum entitled Disney Merchandise, Pin Trading & Collectibles
I guess the monorail toys would be a collectible.

Has any one have any information on a new monorail set. on e-bay someone is selling a " brand new" blue system with characters with opeing cabs. My question is this new or is this an older version and is claiimg it to be just released. The package art work is of the DCA coaster SSE and the hat on the fornt of the box.

Any info would be appreciated

i think what they did was take the old monorail and add a couple things. I am sure it is not disney made. Hope this helps.

Actually it is Disney made and was just recently released. It is monorail blue and comes with 8 characters. The three passenger cars have doors that open and clear windows. It sells for $70 at WDW as opposed to $60 for the standard monorail which is still available (in Gold) at WDW.

Guest Merchandise told me over the phone on the 3rd that they no longer have any gold in stock and dont plan on getting anymore...everything is the blue now. I guess there must be a few gold ones hiding in the stores around WDW?

Anyone have any pics of the new blue monorail toy up close? All I have seen is the box picture. I think I might order one here in the next month although the Contemporary and some extra track would be nice instead to compliment my Red.

There are still many Gold monorails around WDW. Most stores that had monorails had both. MouseGear had more Gold in stock than blue, and the emporium did not have a single blue monorail yet just a ton of gold.

I've always been amazed at the toy monorail pieces and tracks and stuff. I've been trying to get one but they keep turning me down. One of these days i'm going to buy it. It's amazing to me :)

Yes, I think it would be a collectible.

I love the monorail. I put it up every Christmas.

I miss the rides they used to sell. I'm lucky I got all the WDW versions. But I wasn't able to get all DCA. I got some on sale for half price once, but my Golden Zephyr toy didn't spin properly, so I had to return it. But by the time I got back to WDW, I realized that the rides were on sale because they didn't make them any more, and I wasn't able to buy another. :(

But some of the newer rides are nice. I love the Space Mountain toy I have to go by the monorail.

I like how you could buy connectors so the rides would run when the monorail passed by.

They don't even sell most of the hotels anymore, just Contemporary. (Anyone else think the hotel should have litten up?)

I like how Disneyland's Haunted Mansion toy had a different exterior than WDW's.

Remember when the California Screamin' was on sale.

The thing I wish I could get most was the DCA version of the monorail. It came with a Golden Gate Bridge Piece! :D

I thought I could get one when I went to DCA, but they didn't make them anymore. They only sold the WDW monorail versions in their stores. :(

Anyone remember the small 2 car version of the monorail Disneyland sold?

If I had the time, and the space, I would love to build a replica of the Walt Disney World Monorail layout, complete with signs, hotels, Transportation and Ticket center, rides, and landscape. :)
