All,
I am in the process of setting up a Monorail in my cellar. It will be up close to the celling and will be roughly 100ft of track length. I am trying to find more information on how to do this and I have only seen one set of documentation and pictures around it. I am looking for more ideas as well as gotchas around building something like this. I am also looking to possibly convert the monorails to be more remote controled. In other words, i am thinking of building a 3rd rail concept to help drive these from a power pack. Anyone have any suggestions please let me know.

No suggestions, but that's how I want to set up the monorail in my house, along the ceiling, going from room to room.

I'd check some model railroading sites and magazines for some tips.

The home monorail is the same thing as a model railroad.

I enjoy model railroading very much. I would suggest that you visit Model Railroaders website or visit oyur local hobby shop if they have a layout.
Keep in mind that this is a very expensive and never ending hobby. There is always maintenance to perform and you will sometimes not like what you build and end up redoing it many times.
I have not yet build my ceiling model but it is coming soon.
