Monorail tour plan

We will be going during MNSSHP and won't be going to MK until 4 on the day of the party. We were interested in riding the monorail to Epcot and the resort stops before heading to MK for the party. Anyone have "must do's" if leisurely riding the monorail to take in the sites? Any reason to stop at the resorts? SItes, restaurants, deserts, etc... I realize it isn't a thrill ride or show, but when you're from rural Ohio, a monorail of any type is "thrilling". We will have two small children with us (ages 4 and 7).

Years ago, you could ride up front with the driver. Alas, that's no longer possible.

Well, by that time Trader Sams at the Poly may/should be open. I'd wager that isn't something you are used to and may be worth a stop.
