I wonder why it's just these specific trains that are having trouble?
They are the two that were involved in the collision. I suspect undetectable damage. Disney litterally the two undamaged nose cones, placed them on the end of four middle cars, repainted the stripe and had the fleet back up to 11. But was there really NO damage at all to those four middle cars? Sure none that is obvious, but maybe the wheels are not aligned perfectly anymore, or frames are not in the exact spot the use to be.

Either way, I really believe the beginning of the end for the monorails at WDW has started. I do not believe WDW will ever replace the current fleet. They will run it until they cannot anymore and then replace it with busses when it is no longer viable to continue operating it.

Disone- As much as it Disney would love to get rid of the monorails they will not be going away. They will run these trains into the ground for sure. The next Fleet will be intentionally poorly designed and probably built from a less reputable company than Bombardier (maybe using existing chassis) THEN they will prove the inefficiency vs. cost and probably pave the 7 Seas Lagoon into a parking lot for the Magic Kingdom.

The trains involved in the 2009 collision were Pink and Purple. Teal is made up of cars 1-5 of Pink and car 6 of Purple. Peach is made up of cars 1-5 of Purple and car 6 of Pink. Only thing different about the two trains are car 6. Coral was involved in the November incident with a work tractor. Last I knew cars 1-6 of Coral are still cars 1 thru 6. I'm guessing the delay has to do with getting the cab rebuilt. I know it wasn't an easy process for Peach.
