Monorail Resort dining

I'm looking for quick service or snack stop suggestions at any of the MK resorts for the evening of a Party night- we will take advantage of the low crowds so will be at MK, but don't have MNSSHP tickets. Thought it'd be a nice evening to explore the monorail resorts (we're staying at AoA). We'll have quick service and/or snack credits available to us for dinner, and since we'll be kicked out of the park @ 7pm, we'll be more than ready for a bite to eat! Would love any and all recommendations, pleaseandthankyou!

Well at this point I am not sure about the future of Captain Cooks at the Poly, as in if it will be open or not due to the resorts lobby refurb.
That being said I suggest Gasparilla Grill or even the feature pools QS at GFR! I am not a huge fan of dining at the Contempo Cafe for its lack of seating and because the Grand Canyon Concourse in CR can get really loud due to Chef Mickey's and the Monorail (the noise made by the people not the transportation itself).

I'd say go to Gasparilla. Even if Captain Cook's isn't affected by the construction in the Polynesian lobby, with all of the construction going on around that resort in general, it's probably not the most appealing spot or resort on the loop at the moment. The menu at Gasparilla is actually pretty good, too. Seeing as how it's the last stop on the monorail before heading back to the park, I think it makes a lot of sense to make that your meal destination, anyway.

We love Capt. Cooks at the Poly. (pork nachos!!!!) From what I have seen, it should be back up and running by the end of August. Gasparilla Grill at the Grand Floridian is pretty good too. Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary has a large selection and pretty good. All three resorts are easy to get to and also offer a quick monorail or boat ride to MK :) If you choose the Contemporary, you can walk to MK

Thanks for all the great feedback! I was hoping to catch the MNSSHP fireworks from the Poly on the off chance the kids don't flip out before then, so Capt. Cook's was looking good. Thinking through the logistics of trying to haul 4 possibly half-asleep kids back through the mono to TTC for our return trip to AoA after dinner/fireworks... yikes. Luckily we've got time to think this through and none of our meal options require ressies.

CR is a short walk back to the buses for MK. Poly has the best view of the fireworks. The kids might enjoy the monorail going through CR at Contempo Cafe.

Our day starts with brunch at Chef Mickey's, so was thinking to see something else. HOWEVER, this is the only evening we might be able to check out DTD. So... ride the rail, eat QS at one of the resorts after MK closes for MNSSHP and potentially stay for fireworks, or take a bus to DTD for dinner that night? (When all is said and done, we might end up going back to AoA for dinner, now that I'm stressing about this!) Is there a bus that can take us from MK to DTD or would we have to return to a resort anyway? And if DTD for dinner is the way to go, I'd love recommendations on where to use our QS credit that night there as well! TIA!

If you plan on eating at Poly for dinner and then staying to watch the fireworks, you can always walk to the TTC, its a short walk and it would probably be easier than taking the monorail all the way around the loop. DTD is never a "must do" for me as I can buy most of the items at other stores in the parks, and with all the construction going on I'm sure its a little hectic, but if you do decide to eat at DTD with a quick service credit, Earl of Sandwich is pretty good and I'm planning on trying Bongos on my next trip.

DH has settled on DTD- he wants to try Wolfgang Pucks. Hm. Me and my bigfat"let'sconsideralloptions"mouth.

*heads off to start new thread on logistics of MK-> DtD-> AoA travel...*
