Moderate or Deluxe?

Right now I have reservations at CBR for preferred location for May '04. My bf and I stayed at the CBR on our last trip and loved it, but I was thinking that it might be nice to stay at AKL if AP rates are released. I could only afford the standard view, though.

So, would you stay in a moderate w/preferred view or a deluxe with standard view if you had the choice? Is it worth staying at the AKL if you have a view of the parking lot? -Steph

For me (well, us...the wife included), we loved AKL! We went just before our wedding to get away from our insane families. We had a savannah view and thought it was amazing! The resort is breathtaking.

later on we went back and all we could get was a standard (i.e. parking lot) view. Though the resort is still breathtaking...we really missed our view of the animals (there are still plenty of viewing areas throughout the resort, but its not the same as having them right outside your room) and thought that for the money, we could have just stayed at a moderate (or even another deluxe like wilderness lodge).

If you haven't stayed at AKL...its definitely worth it but you really should do the savannah view if you're going to stay there, otherwise, CBR and many of the moderates are nice too. If you're using AP discounts, check out Wilderness lodge, its usually affordable, and for me, even the standard view is pretty darn cool!
