Moderate Help

Hi,

I'm considering a Disney trip soon and while my family/friends will be with me a few of the days, there is also a chance that I might stay on an extra few days on my own.

Any recommendations for a moderate for a female traveler on her own? Obviously convenience/transportation to the parks is very important as well as safety concerns (I know its Disney but still...). The ambience/theming is important too - Ive only ever stayed in deluxe (Poly/Contemp/GF) on property (thanks to my lovely parents) so I'd like something close to that comfort level but budget is still an issue (hence the need for a moderate) for the days I'm paying for.

Hi Susanalisa: I would recommend the French Quarter if you are able to obtain rooms. It's a great small resort which great access to the buses. You are always the first stop!

I am taking a solo trip in about three weeks and I was not able to get the French Quarter at the AP rate. I am staying at the POR instead which is just down river but a much larger resort. I have let them know I am traveling alone and would prefer a room that is not hidden from the main areas. Disney is usually very helpful when you are traveling solo. I love the PO resorts because of the boat to downtown disney. I love these two resorts and would highly recomend them.

I'll second the Port Orleans resorts (either River side or French Quarter) They are hands down the best of the moderates.

:wave: Me,too. Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. I wouldnt mind staying there myself at all. Have a magical trip. :sohappy:

I fourth that! In March I went with cousin's who always stay at Boardwalk, I told them I could only afford Moderate so they decided to stay at the Port Orleans also. They loved it.

Since you're travelling alone... If you go for the "Riverside" section of Port Orleans, go for "Magnolia Bend". It's just a little more "upscale" than Alligator Bayou. If you get a room facing the water it's feels almost like being in a deluxe.

(The Bayou is great for kids, though, because they have trundle beds.)

If you can't get into Port Orleans for some reason, Coronado Springs would be my 2nd choice.
