Hello everybody. I've been growing increasingly curious about the Halloween festivities at WDW, and I was hoping you guys could answer them. These include: What goes on there during the celebration? When does it start and when does it end? Is there a separate admission fee? What parks have special events? I've heard that costumes are allowed, what are the rules for what's allowed and what isn't?

But to address your questions:

What goes on there during the celebration?
Info here.

When does it start and when does it end?
7:00 pm to Midnight. You can enter as early at 4:00pm.

Is there a separate admission fee?
Yes. $75 - $125. It increases as Halloween gets closer, the most expensive being on Halloween ($125). See https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/purchase/ for tickets.

What parks have special events?
  • Magic Kingdom: Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (separately ticketed)
  • Hollywood Studios: Star Wars Galactic Nights: Usually held around the premiere of the latest Star Wars movie, the last being on May 27 (separately ticketed)
  • Epcot: Festival dujour (there is always one going on. In the Fall that would be the Food and Wine Festival): Included with park admission
  • Animal Kingdom: None.
I've heard that costumes are allowed, what are the rules for what's allowed and what isn't?

We have done MNSSHP twice. There are pros and cons. The pros are that there are character activites that are not available otherwise. My DD and DS attended dance parties at the Golden Horseshoe with Woody and Jesse and still talk about it now years later. And, the charcter meet and greets with unique characters are really cool. The parade is also amazing. And, if you are into Sorceror's you get a free party card that non-party-goers cannot get unless they buy it or trade for it. The fireworks show is cool, but nothing I would write home about. The candy is okay- but my kids enjoyed making a sport of getting it. The cons are that the parties have become really crowded IMHO. I feel like it's kinda of expensive. And, I feel like the adults sort of overtook the fun for the small kids. The proportion of adults to kids was really high last time we went (and it was mid-September), and when they are all dressed in ornate (sometimes revealing) costuming, it was a bit much for me. I'm glad we experienced it, but I don't think we'll do it again.

JohnD pretty much nailed it. I will add I have gone and highly recommend it. It is a bargain at double the price. My whole family wore costumes and had a complete blast.

Hi Guys!~ I am a late bloomer to MNSSHP can someone post or PM me a price list for ALL the date from the beginning, please!? We are looking to going next year last week of September or first week in October and would like a cost of what this years prices were for those weeks! THANKS! I am assuming that we can go to the party only on MK day of our trip, no other admission required other than party admission!?

The prices will likely be higher next year than they were this year. They also vary based on the day of the week that party is held and how close to Halloween you are. In general assume if you purchase them in advance you might get them as cheap as 79, or might have to pay as much as 109. Until you know when you are going to go there just assume you are going to be spending 100 / person to do the Halloween party... Note you will only be allowed to enter using the Halloween ticket at 4:00pm the day of the party. If you wanted to go earlier than that you would need a regular ticket.

Thanks Thomas...I knew about entering at 4pm, but just wanted to make sure I didn't have to purchase a park admission in addition to the party admission!
