Hey guys! So I have a trip coming up and my friend (Who is a first timer) and I will be hitting the parks October 7-9. October 9th is our day at Magic Kingdom, which, I know, is the worst day of the trip to choose. However, we have tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Out of curiosity, how many tickets does Disney sell before its "sold out"? Also, the main reason we have these tickets is so that in the morning we go to all of the attractions not open during the halloween party, go nap/eat lunch in the afternoon, then come back at around 7:00 pm and do everything else + fireworks & the hocus pocus show.

Does anyone have any previous experience with the halloween party on Columbus Day? Will the lines still be long or more reasonable than they will be throughout the normal operation day?

*I've never been to any uncharge events like this before, so this is a first for me!

Thanks for any input!

While it was a few years back that we were there on columbus day weekend I don't recall it being terribly crowded on Columbus day vs the day before or after. What will impact you is that Columbus day is on a day that MK has the extra magic hour. That will increase your crowds more than anything else in the morning so if your not staying at a Disney resort you can probably write off any hope of getting a short line at the mine train.

Also note Splash mountain it down for refurbishment so don't plan on getting wet.

As for the number for a sold out party... I've heard various number thrown about but never from anyone I would have considered reliable. I will say that we've been there when it was sold out as well as when it wasn't. On the sell out night certain areas felt very crowded but the park was still overall not as crazy as a peak day in the summer. I doubt your halloween party will be sold out. Generally the sell outs happen closer to Halloween you are still early enough in October that it shouldn't be too bad on a Sunday. Friday before you arrive is probably going to be more crowded. I would also suggest you come back at 4:00 not 7:00... They will let you in at 4:00 so don't waste the 3 hours waiting till 7:00.... Another point if you plan on doing an meet and greets some of the lines for them will be very long by 7:00. People have been known to start lining up almost an hour before the characters are due to show up in the past. 7 dwarves, Jack and Sally, and Captain Jack tend to be in demand so if you want one of them plan on getting to them early... Of course a word of caution is that of those mentioned Captain Jack is not always on time last time we waited for him he was off schedule by about 20 minutes and I've heard stories that he has been later than that.

Thanks for the info!! We have park hopper passes and it goes on to Columbus Day. I mostly got the halloween party tickets specifically for the attractions that are open at MK that night so it sounds promising! Doing all of the other attractions throughout the day... We'll be exhausted by MK so we'll definitely get there more at 7:00 instead to avoid the combination of the regular park crowds AND the ticketed event people all at once!

Thank you so much for the info!

Does anyone even celebrate Columbus Day? I don't think businesses are closed. Not sure about schools. Either way I don't think traffic will be much different than a normal MNSSHP day.

Evidently its a school holiday in some states. Why, who knows?

It's precisely the reason why I'm going! Upstate GA, go to a private college, we get a fall break October 9th and 10th.
