MNSSHP: How early is too early?

I'm going to DW for the first time ever this year. And our first day in the parks is on actual Halloween! We have tickets to MNSSHP.

I know, we chose the busiest night for our first MNSSHP experience, but it was the only option we had.

So I was wondering, if I want to arrive early to the parade and early to the Spelltacular, how early do me and my husband need to be to get good spots? It's kind of important to me that I have a decent view of both. I'm short lol

Any other tips?

Thanks so much!

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Lots of nights sell out and they only sell the same amount of tickets each night so it won't be anymore crowded than any other many sold out nights of the parties. We have been on Halloween night and other sold out nights and it's the same. It's not like a packed regular park day at all.
Best advice I have is to go to the second parade of the night and watch from Frontierland. No need to stake out a spot early but you don't want to miss the headless horseman that comes through 5-10 min before the parade makes it to you. Also same for the fireworks there is plenty of spots to not have to wait long before the show. We never wait longer than 10-15 min prior and are able to find a spot somewhere. Spelltacular the later the show the easier to get a spot as well.
Hope y'all have a wonderful time!! ;)

People will be getting in line for the first parade before the event begins. Your ticket gets you in at 4pm, and around that time you will see people lining the streets for the first parade.

The later parade is less busy, especially in Frontierland.

The later Spelltacular shows are also much less busy.

I have another question to add if you don't mind.... from where does the parade start. I have heard the other two regular parades each start at different locations, Main Street or Frontierland.

Ill be there this year for Halloween night too! My parents got married on Halloween, and this is their 40th anniversary. So the whole family will be there to celebrate. I cant wait! Still gotta figure out my costume though.

Is there any advantage to watching the parade on Main Street as opposed to Frontierland?
We watched the parade at the bend near the riverboat and stocks. Saw the Headless Horseman coming and going, so that is an advantage. Sometimes, Frontierland is not as crowded as Main St. But, you don't have as open an area with a view of the castle, etc. Cannot go wrong with either.

I have watched it from both and while Frontierland is less crowded (usually) I preferred MSUSA, just be aware you have to line up by like 5pm for the parade on Main Street.

Frontierland.
