so my 20 year old grandson and I are going to the party this year. my question is will we be really out of place if we don't go in a costume? I know a lot of people dress up but are there a lot of people that dont?

Don’t worry - there’s a good mix of both. Some people really go all out with elaborate costumes/makeup, others simply wear Disney or Halloween shirts, or just their regular park attire.

We went as Lilo and Stitch, but on the casual side. I wore a pink top/green skirt all day at the park, then just donned a lei to complete the outfit during the party. My Stitch literally just wore a blue shirt and put on a Stitch hat. We liked getting into the spirit of the party - although not as hardcore as some others. ;)

I think the truth is, everyone is too busy with the party offerings to really care if others are dressed up or not. Just do whatever you feel is most comfortable and enjoyable! :)

Definitely not. We dressed up the first year we went but not last fall when we just opted for Disney themed Halloween tees because it's way too hot in September for dressing up.

If your grandson does and you dont thats OK. If you both do or dont thats OK too. Weve gone in costume and other times been out of costume. Being in costume adds to the personal fun, youre part of the partying gang but depending on what you wear it can be rather hot. Deciding not to go in costume is also fun in just seeing all the different varieties of rented/ bought and home made costumes. Many are exceptionally well done. Either way you go, youll enjoy the atmosphere and all that the night holds.

Last party I was at, I dressed up completely, my husband didn’t. He put on a Marvel shirt and called it a day. It’s whatever makes you happy!

As others have said, there's a big mixture. My wife got a nurses outfit for herself and a doctors one for me the other year. On the night we went she put it on in the hotel room and decided it was going to be way too hot so we scrapped the idea and we went in just shorts and t-shirts as usual. Don't worry though, I've thought of other uses for these outfits even though neither of us are in the medical profession and put them to good use ;)
