MNSSHP Advice

I'll be taking my daughter to WDW in September and because she's probably the world's biggest Nightmare Before Christmas fan, I'd love to take her to MNSSHP since it'll be the only place she could meet Jack. However, the party runs from 7pm (I know we can get in around 4pm) until midnight. We were initially going to be in the world for 9 nights, but we've had to cut it back to 7 so now my plan is a little goofy.

Normally my daughter is in bed by 9pm at the latest, but I do let her stay up a bit later for rare special occasions (family parties, New Years, etc).

My main problem is trying to fit everything into this smaller time frame. My daughter is 5 and we're planning 4 base days at Disney parks (1 day for each park, plus the party) and one day at Universal doing park to park.

We will be visiting from Saturday, September 24th until Saturday, October 1st. There are three party days during our stay: Sunday, Thursday, and Friday.

I was initially leaning toward Thursday because I feel like Sunday and Friday could potentially be a lot busier, but now I feel like it'll throw off a bigger chunk of our trip.

Has anyone been to the party before? What is your plan with kiddos normally?

I cant comment on which day to attend, as we've only been to the WDW party once (last year) but as for your daughter struggling to stay awake. I'd suggest she will be fine. We took our daughter to her first Halloween Party in Disneyland Paris when she was 5yrs old and she stayed awake till 12.30 easily. I was concerned too and expected to have left by 10pm but no chance. We have since done a party every year, our WDW party last year was for her 8th birthday. The atmosphere alone will keep you all going not to mention the trick or treating and short ride queues. We where also jet lagged and didn't have a problem despite it being 5.30am back home in the UK for us by the time we got back to our resort. On the other plus side, she slept like a log but was still up and about by 7am ready to go again :) We are going again this year, we cant wait :p

We went last year with our daughter for her 4th birthday. We gave her a long afternoon nap at the resort, and then went to the party at 4. She is also a huge Jack & Sally fan - in fact meeting them was the thing she wanted to the most on our entire trip! We ended up skipping the Hocus Pocus stage show, because the line for Jack & Sally was about 30-40 minutes, the shortest it ever got to that night. We went on a Tuesday, and it wasn't sold out. I honestly didn't think crowds were too bad. I'd probably avoid going on a Friday night, but I would think Sunday & Thursday should be okay. Some shows randomly sell out though, you just never know. I think it's worth going regardless. :)

We were able to trick or treat, meet lots of characters & catch the parade. Our daughter stayed up later than normal with no problem, mostly because that nap really helped her. I thought the party was a lot of fun, we can't wait to go again!

I would pick the Thursday out of those 3 choices ( the last we went to was a tues). Give your kiddo an afternoon nap w/ enough time to be up and in costume if youre doing that and to the MK by 4. When we were there last the line for Jack and Sally was already forming at 4 and it was busy the rest of our party. If your daughter loves Nightmare (so do I-zero is my fave lol), make sure you get a decent spot to watch HalloWishes from (nightmare part of it). Have fun!
