I had checked out rates for car rentals in DL for december, and I had been quoted $357 for an SUV for 4 days through Alamo. I called Alamo back yesterday, and I was quoted $204 for the same SUV, at the same rental location, for the same amount of days. This was with everything except insurance (I have my own)
I then told my relatives who were coming to Orlando to do the same. They had a minivan via Avis. They were quoted approx $400 for a week. They called back and got quoted (get ready for this).. $210 for the same minivan, at the same rental location (Orlando International Airport), for the same amount of time. Nothing had changed, except the price.
Moral of the story- if you have a car rental reservation, start calling.. you may get a cheaper price
