Can you take a bus from MK to DTD or do you have to go to the TTC first? Also, how long is the usual wait for a bus from a resort to DTD?

Thanks!

You would need to go to the TTC first. Best bet is walk to the Contemporary and take the bus from there. They run ever 20 minutes I believe.

I thought the TTC didn't offer Downtown Disney transportation anymore? :veryconfu

But yea, like mrtoad said, best bet is to walk over to the Contemporary. But beware, they share that bus with the Poly and the GF. It might be a bit crowed if your planning a nighttime visit to Downtown Disney.

yeah, i believe that DTD doesn't have a direct route to MK and vice vera. my hotel was in the DTD resort area and we took buses to various resorts and the TTC to get around the World

I have always found that even if toy are staying in WDW they best to get to anf from DTD is by your own car!! The parking is free and it is much easier and quicker to get back late at night (unless you are drunk of course:hammer: ) :king:

Buses do run from the TTC to DTD. So you can walk to Contemporary and get the bus straight there or take the Monorail to the TTC. I think the Monorail is the smartest bet because it will take you at least five to seven minutes walking a brisk pace to get to the Contemporary and then you have to wait for the bus. The Monorail I believe runs pretty regular and you will probably see the Monorail going passed you as you walk to the Contemporary.

There is no bus service to DTD from MK or the TTC.

I always walk to the Contemporary and wait for a bus there. But I have to warn you...If you are planning on doing this anytime between the hours of 6-11pm, your bus will be extremely crowded. And it will stop at GF aswell. It also takes about 15-20 minutes once you start rolling from GF, so it is almost like a 30 minute ride.

What I have been doing lately, since it is a busy time of the year, I have been taking a bus to Old Key West. Those busses are almost never busy, and after you get there and get on a bus to DTD, the ride is about 5 minutes.

To get to Downtown Disney from a non-hotel bus stop you must transfer at a hotel. I learned this the hard way. :brick:

If speed is not an issue another thought is this. Take a bus from the MK to Port Orleans and take the Sassagoula (I am sure I spelled that wrong) launch down river to Downtown Disney. We love taking that over a bus because it is such a nice relaxing ride. I highly suggest it if you have the time becuase it will be a long way if you take a bus to PO and then the launch but it is so much nicer. On the way home just take the bus right to your hotel unless you are staying at PO then take the launch back.

There used to be a bus from the TTC to DTD, but it was discontinued at least a year ago. I'd follow ISTCrew's advice and do the Old Key West detour - it really does work. I've also taken a bus to Port Orleans, and then caught the bus to DTD from there. If you try to catch a bus from any of the MK resorts, you're going to wait for a LONG, LONG time!

Old Key West is the best transfer point.

As for the Contemporary, it shares with only the Polynesian. Grand Floridian shares with Wilderness Lodge.
