MK security checkpoints

My family and I were at WDW in Jan. of this year. At that time, the position of the security checkpoints dicatated that all guests entering the MK were directed to the walkways towards the boat docks, and then up the middle walkway. The actual checkpoints were just folding tables with skirting around them. I was wondering if anything more permanent has been put in their place, and if the checkpoints were still in the same place.

Its in the same place and same setup.

Epcot now has little futristic tents over their checkpoints - which are right at the turnstiles.

Scary thing: The other night, when the world decided to go all Noah Ark on me and my trip to the MK, the security checkpoints were abandoned. The park was still technically open, though everyone was leaving. I'm certain you could of entered if you wanted to though, and the security check points were completely abandoned and I don't recall seeing the guards at the turnstiles.

I Still think it's pretty easy to sneak something in tho....not that I eva would...and I'm sure no one would even take the risk....but I still think its a big waste of time and space.....but I'd rather be safe than sorry....

I like the epcot ones bettter than the MK....

Just remember...

Even though there may be no security guards at the front gates checking out your bags for weapons and stuff of that nature, there are cameras ALL around the parks that watch your every move. So, if any of you are thinking about bringing anything that will jeopardize the lives of other visitors/park guests, then you better think twice about bringing it with you because.... BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU.

Thank you and enjoy your day here, at the Magic Kingdom :)

I'm glad the checkpoints are there, but I realize that if someone wanted to do something they still could.

I think it's more of a security blanket for most people and that Disney doesn't expect to catch anyone with their searches.
