MK rope drop strategy

Hi guys, it's been a while!

Heading back for the first time in five years next week! Feels a lot longer. Planning to rope-drop MK next Friday (non-resort). The general consensus seems to be to head across to Adventureland but we've got a DR at Skipper Canteen at 2.05. To avoid walking back and forth, any alternative (productive) strategies that may work?

TIA!

The way they have things setup these days you'll be walking back and forth regardless. I would stick with the Adventureland idea though since most people's instinct is to go right when heading in and they head for Tomorrowland (Also because Tron is over there.). Adventureland has always been very quiet and peaceful (to us) after rope drop.

If you head to Fantasyland or Tomorrowland, you will already see long waits since those areas are open to those with Early Entry. Frontierland, Liberty Square and Adventureland are your best bets to fit in a few rides with shorter waits. When we were there in September, we went straight to Jungle Cruise and then Pirates and only waited 15 minutes for each. The same would have been true if we had headed to Big Thunder. Haunted Mansion is also an option, though Mansion is close to Fantasyland, so Early Entry folks can get there pretty quickly if they want to.

It is good to go to the left side of the park first at rope drop. The reason being that 30 minutes before park opening, the right side of the park (Fantasyland and Tomorrowland) are open to Disney Resort guests for early entry. And you figure that most of the crowd at rope drop will be in either Fantasyland or Tomorrowland. So when the other side of the park opens up, the attractions should end up having shorter waits, so you may able to get 3 or 4 big attractions done.

Which way did you go? We always head towards Adventureland first. Retracing steps back to Skippers wouldnt bother us. We are resigned that walking many steps is a necessity for a Dis trip and having a good meal makes the journey worth it.

I would go to Jungle Cruise, then work your way round clockwise via Pirates, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion. Depending how your time goes you could return for your lunch and then to Tomorrowland. Leave Fantasyland for later on.
This is the way that I like to do it as well

I rank the attractions i want to do at each park.
For me because i had never been to peter pan even though id been 5 times in the past it was #1

So
1 peter pan
2 jungle cruise pirates hm
3 everything else.

so i went right for peter pan, then went across to small world then hm then jungle then pirates. The rest of the park is pretty much walk on or short waits.

For some reason i wasnt feeling thunder mountain but if i was and if splash was open it would have been

1)peter pan
2) HM JC PC SM TM
3) everything else
then i would have went to peter pan, sw, hm splash tm pirates jc then whatever sounded good and had a short line.

i go from rope drop to close and every time do everything at every park with no passes

epcot was also due to i hadnt done rat or frozen

1)rat
2)frozen
3) test track, soarin
4) living with the land 3 cabs spaceship earth
5) everything else

rode rat, then frozen 3 cab (my fav) test track soarin livin with the land (second fav)
and throughout the day rode everything several times minus rat and frozen, which i only rode once.
