MK Park hours in September

I noticed that on some days in Sept, MK closes at 6pm. Isn't that a bit early, especially if you're wanting to eat dinner at the park? Any chance Disney will extend hours?

That is likely due to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party which is from 6 pm to 12 am on select nights.
