Mistake by Universal?

So as most of us probably know, Disney released their 2015 packages and room rates last week. I could be way off here, but does anyone else think Universal is making a mistake by not being able to book anything beyond June yet? Summer is peak season, and though Disney obviously has way more rooms to fill, they are getting a huge head start on Universal. I'm sure there are some that would look at spending at least a couple days of their vacation at Universal, but because they can't book a room yet, they may just be saying "Oh well", and booking their entire stay at Disney and opting for a Uni day trip.

I think the best bet Uni has of drawing people away from Disney is by having them stay at one of their hotels and seeing how good resort guests have it there.

For what it's worth, I'm a travel agent and most people honestly don't book their trips further out than a year (that pesky airfare isn't available further out than June/July 2015, you see), and those that are trying to book further out than that know exactly what they want and typically have no problem waiting to get it... Uni's not really losing out on anything there because anyone who was waiting on Disney's 2015 room rates for further out than June 2015 wasn't planning on staying at a Uni hotel anyway.

Congrats. Not to be rude but the vast majority of people aren't. Most people who aren't within easy driving range wait until the airfare comes out. Meanwhile, the airfare for February, March, and April breaks have been out for a while but WDW just released their rates a couple of days ago... Maybe it's actually WDW who made the mistake here?

makes a lot of sense. People who know they are going on vacation a year and a half from now already know where they are staying. Those kinda of people are planners.

Only Mistake Universal has made is selling land they once had.

Oh and making Paper Annual passes. That turns me off so much. I feel like a regular tourist instead of an AP holder haha!
