Okay, has the ride been toned down since the soft opening??? I read that on some sites, but no confirmation, some say yes, others no....

Sooo, I'd like to know from you, the guys wo ride it every week... is this true or not??? I rode it in September, and truly hope that they didn't touch it!

And as the rumor once said, is Red Fuge still feeling more intense than the others or are the 4 fuges all equal??

thanks for your answer!

I hope not. At most, what they should do (as you sort of mentioned) is offer perhaps a tamer version of the ride in 1 or 2 of the fuges and the standard ride in the rest .

Edit: What sites did you see this rumor on anyway?

During the Soft Opening I believe it was like 3, or 4 g's, but the toned it down, cause too many people were getting sick. So now it's 2, or 3 g's...I believe.

No, no it hasnt. Based on statements Steve has said about the complexity of the ride software, it seems like it would be virtually impossible to rework everything in such a short amount of time. And it never pulled 4 g's, i incorrectly assumed the same thing until Steve set me straight.

Ive talked with other sources who constantly deny that the ride has been toned down. I noticed that the Airconditioning was toned down but thats about it :D

From all I've read, the ride hasn't been toned down since well before regular park guests were allowed on it. I certainly haven't noticed a difference in the 8 months it's been open.

Also, all the centrifuges provide a pretty much identical ride.

I think this is false....4 g's for such a sustained period of time would never conceptually work. Few people could sustain that kind of pressure without proper training.

The g forces have always been the same (I believe) since opening. Only minor adjustments (if any) were made. I believe that the G forces have always been less than 2 g's. The reason for this is that unlike a roller coaster, the force is constantly being pushed on to you, not for just a quick time period.

Also, therotically the centrifuges all work at the same speed. however, I do not know if this is entirly true as I've only been on it once in July.

I think it would be a bad idea to make the centrifuges run with different itensities. While it would be great for us Disney fanatics, the average guest would get confused VERY easily. When people go on Mission: Space, a lot of them don't even know it spins!:hammer:

4 g's is pretty safe but if the wrong person were to ride it at the right time, we could have another lawsuit here.: dazzle: Good thing they added those barf bags, they could very useful.

I suppose it would be confusing and difficult to have both a tamer and wilder version of the ride - but it sure would be nice!

I never had motion-type sickness on a ride before and was fine on every other ride at WDW. I followed the instructions about focusing on the screen at MS - but I got so sick! (Let's put it this way, I used both my barf bag and my husbands!) The CM was really concerned as I was completely disoriented and too dizzy to walk, so after getting some medical attention I spent the rest of the day in bed at the hotel.

The sad thing was that I was really enjoying the scenery and plot (and looking forward to pushing my buttons) had I not been so sick.

About a lawsuit if it was the wrong person riding it, before the actual ride they mention and clearly state the warnings and risks involved. So it would be there own fault if something happened to them involving the g's.

4 G's for short spurts would not be harmful. 4 g's over such a long period (such as the 30 second liftoff) could be VERY harmful to the average person.

i thought the ride was great [even though i got sick afterwards] but i dont think it should be toned down. they give you so many warnings before you actually board the ride of the risks of motion sickness and such.

I rode it in June when they were testing it and again in October..and didnt experience any difference then. So hopefully they haven't cause it was great the way it was.
