Mission: Space opening?

Alright, before anyone bites my head off that this question has been asked a million times before: It's been a few months since I've seen posts on it, and a lot could have changed since then,
I'll be there in late January and it would probably be the highlight of my trip if M:S were open- or at least in a soft open. Any likelyhood at all.

It's always possible for a soft open in January, but all official sources are quoting Spring time as being the most likely. So I would not get your hopes up too much unless e hear something more solid between now and then.

Okay, thanks- that's kinda what I figured. I'll definately keep ears open and my fingers crossed, though. :)

i definetly agree with wdwmagic . Disney could pull another card out the sleeve and open it earlier, or they might find problems and it mgiht open later. The opening dates that disney has set sounds like perfect. i just cant wait until it does open:)

From the last I heard, July 1st is also a date their throwing around, since many space missions will take place durring that time.

But my guess is a late May opening (softopenings in, Febuara:( )

Remember, Disney can do whatever.

Good luck and remember.

We chose to GO!

That'd be a real shame if they started soft opening in Feb. right after I left. (I leave Feb. 1) I don't know when I'll get another chance to see M:S. Could be years. :(

Thanks for the input everybody.

It could go either way, anything at the moment is pure guess work. There really isnt any reliable word coming out of Disney yet on soft openings. My best advice is to stay tuned here, and as soon as anything happens, you will know about it.

Remember Test Track's problems?

Just one idea on the opening for M:Space:
I think we all remember the PR nightmare that Test Track's opening was for Disney. Fellow CM's are telling me that while M:S is coming along well, Disney will likely delay soft openings (my humble opinion is late March/Early April, but thats just me) to make sure that any opening isn't a false one, or that an open date won't be pushed back over and over like TT. Just another idea to consider...

TT had to cram 23 cars in a mile track with speeds up to 65 mph with over 100 zone stops involved. That's what cased the delay. MS's technology is more advanced, but is also more contained. Unlike TT's syncronazation of cars. MS will basicly be you sitting in pods as it goes around an axis.

I'm going late January, early Feb and though I would be thrilled with a soft opening at that time, I figure it will be just one more reason to start planning another trip as soon as I get back!

JUST A REMINDER!!!

If, and I mean IF, M:S goes into soft openings at anytime, it DOSN'T mean that it'll be open all the time. It might be open for one day for only an hour or two, or it could be closed for weeks on end.

At no time did Disney EVER say 'Spring', just 2003. It was guessed upon that most attractions open in the spring or fall. That's it. Nothing more.

I too have heard of a Spring-Memorial Day opening but thats coming from what has been talked around the web. All I know is that the day Mission: Space opens, and I'm not there, I will not be coming onto any message boards or websites because i dont want it to be spoiled. I wanted the experience to be a surprise.

Wow, i didn't know that. Do you think it had anything to do with the countdown clock that was/ is in Innoventions (I don't know if it is or is not operational now) I heard people figured out from it that the date would be sometime in May, and so they stopped the clock- literally. Did they ever put it back up?
