News Channel 6 - local Orlando, after showing footage from Shrek 4D's opening celebration at Universal Studios, announced the opening of Mission:Space as being two months away, and proceeded to display a few seconds of video from inside the ride. These shots included a shot of the passangers as well as a shot of the passenger viewing screens during the "lift-off" portion of the ride. The video footage was quite "home video" in quality and the news anchor referred to the video as "home video." I'm not sure if that's something Disney wanted released to the public or not. Either way, the shots of the viewing screens looked pretty good in quality - although the screens seemed rather small (a criticism I've had with the ride since seeing the first official press photo of the interior.)

This segment aired at during the 11:00 PM news program, at approximately 11:15 PM.

My guess would be they're that small because the windows on all spacecraft have been small. At Johnson Space Center they have a mock-up of a space shuttle that you can go inside of and the windows were a lot smaller than I thought they would be. The windows on the Appollo rockets were also very small. It's amazing they ever fit 3 grown men into one of them.

Cheers

Well, when you are going 18,000 mph in the vacuum of space, you don't want to have extra windows to worry about things slamming into, killing everyone on board. It's simply an issue of safety.
