Missing the LTT's (Stouffer’s) Mac & Cheese...

Is it only within a slice of my own family, but does anyone else really miss the Stouffer’s mac & cheese portion of the Liberty Tree Tavern's meals? For certain, we can simply grab a tray or so from the local grocery store and bake, but this was a slight dining pleasure at WDW -- seemed even better while enjoying it there...not the same now.

Curious to hear from some of you - why did Stouffer's/Nestle pull their sponsorship, or was it the other way around?

I have seen a special on this on TV before Disney makes their own Mac and Cheese recipes and researched kids input when they chose which of their Chef's recipes to use: It was not Stouffers! And they still have the same Mac and cheese at many locations in WDW.

Stouffers actually sponsored and was responsible for the food in LTT back in the day. It was a different Mac and Cheese than otherwise served in the parks back then.

That must have been long before my time at LTT. Lol (First time we ate there was 2008 or 2009 eventhough it had been there many years) Thanks for the info! Always like learning something new about WDW!

If they DO still have Stouffer's anywhere else at WDW, I'd be surprised... They were the sponsor at LTT, thus the expected featuring of their product.

I also recall the stories of "researching" children's tastes to some degree on which m&c they enjoyed, but I also recall my children (...and...us too) thinking the new Disney m&c was somewhat generic. My guess is that one or the other parties wanted to break/end/leave that arrangement and the testing was somehow the best tale to spin. I'm completely understanding of Disney saving funds on making simple m&c on their own, or making the best of a failed sponsorship. B-U-T Stouffer's!!

Mac & cheese continues to be listed on the official dinner menu at LTT (and on the kids' menu for lunch) -- am I missing something? Did they remove it? (This is a serious question, as removal of the mac & cheese might well be a "deal breaker" for my children in terms of wanting to eat at LTT).

Sounds like it's still there but has been "downgraded" (?) and is no longer the same brand you can get at any grocery store anywhere.

Honest to God, this forum sometimes... Imagine the outrage if Disney switched from made-from-scratch macaroni and cheese to Stouffer's. The torches would be lit and the pitchforks sharpened. Meanwhile, Disney switches from Stouffer's to a more homemade recipe, and people cry and moan about that, too.

Good to know. I... er, I mean, my kids... will be delighted that it's still there, regardless of whether it's exactly the same kind that our Colonial forefathers enjoyed.

We ate at LTT yesterday and the children at the next table were enjoying mac and cheese

Jefferson did serve macaroni pie at the White House for a state dinner. He loved macaroni topped with cheese and brought a pasta machine back with him from Italy after a visit there. So it does have historical roots for LTT.

It's funny...I like Stouffer's mac & cheese, but I remember it being a huge turn off for me at LTT. I just was really bothered that we were paying restaurant prices for something in my grocer's freezer.

More homemade, at WDW, eh? Alrighty then... I'd imagine folks might not care for switching from Coca Cola to Disney's-Own, taste tested and kid approved generic cola. Or perhaps from Starbucks (now) to gas station quality. This isn't a huge deal, but a slight loss. Not a cry and moan... Now, don't get me started on their pizza sauce.
