missing hidden mickeys

during our trip, we noticed a few of the hidden mickeys we normally see are not there anymore. the only few that come to mind right now are the 3 plates from the HM, the 3 cookies at the beginning of PPF, & the fish from the Canadian gift shop in Epcot. is it normal for hidden mickeys to be removed every now & then?

Yes... Most of them stay in place, as most are permanent fixtures that are part of the attraction or site and cant be moved. Some get taken when refurbs are done. Some less permanent ones get messed with by the CM's and are moved around. The HM plates are ones that get taken out of the scene and brought back at times by the CM's. You can search for hidden Mickey alerts online that get updated as ones are put in place, found as new, or removed. There are also hidden Minnies, Goofys, Plutos and Donalds. And some Mickeys that are harder to see because they are side profiles and not the 3 circle types.

Yes...there's one near the exit of Muppets..it used to be in the purple paint splotches, the it was gone. More recently it was back, in the same areas, but not in the purple paint. Some that used to be in the pre-show of Toy Story Mania are also now gone. And of course many disappear when the hotels get refurbished, like the carpeting, room fixtures, wall art, etc.
