Miss yesteryear of WDW, or was Epcot really left out?

Just got to wondering, I know that there are many things that I miss from the 90s when it comes to Disney World (Horizons, Journey Into Imagination, Jeremy Irons SSE...etc.). However, maybe the kids of today will miss the Disney World of the 2000s?

OR

Did they really not give Epcot the attention it needed throughout the years and threw it by the waste side? (Honestly, in comparison, even though a few rides are gone in Magic Kingdom, I feel like they just paid a whole lot more attention to that park versus the others). What are your thoughts?

I would say up until Mission: Space came out in 2003. It was still trying to push the education feel with a "Thrill" Factor.....After Soarin came in 2005...It seemed throwing things to see if they stick was the new thing.....

I think they've realized that epcot can be highly profitable while being an exhibition space for events, hence the reduced investment. Its a shame but the world has changed, so you cant really expect a company to not change with the times. Unfortunately, it has also meant the dilution of the original intent of the park, which is sad but I fear its a natural change of the times, if you will .. With the large exception of the reduction of show by way of shutterings and stale attractions. I'm more concerned and upset by the general apathy and lack of investment than I am the slow migration of ideals. Good show is good show, no matter what .. And vice versa.

Not all Disney parks are alike in greatness, it is not nostalgia. All one needs is to compare the contemporaneous DisneySea and WDSP. One superb and one mediocre park. Likewise, EPCOT Center was sublime, 2000s Epcot decent.
