Oops, my last trip report had the wrong date. Those events were actually monday 4/12. This is the real 4/13 report.
I sent the family to DCA in the AM and I slept and relaxed most of the morning. (If you don't knwo why go read the other trip report first.)
I was still a little out of it but wanted to rejoin the group so I headed over to DCA late afternoon. I just relaxed at the park instead of in my home.
Miss Piggy was out as was Mulan. At least Mulan brought a little life to SF area. The day was nice, a little breeze kept the temps down. Crowds were not bad at all. Grizzly and Soarin both had 90 minute wait times.
We rode Soarin and went down and to the right. For some reason, that direction they were only loading in A and B but not C. We rode the ride again aboput 4 hours later, just before closing, and the same thing; C was not used. So that is part of why the ride had a long wait. That is what, about 150 people less per hour. I am not sure if the left side was running at full capacity.
I went to the 6:15pm Aladdin. Quite wonderful! I had a great seat, Orchestra, row 2, almost dead center.
After that a leasurely dinner at Taste Pilots and then headed over to stake a spot for the Electrical Parade (ended up just outside the Sunglass Dino.) The Parade was awesome as always.
After the parade our guests wanted to ride Saorin again. Just as we rounded Golden Dreams the fireworks started. I was surprised how close they seemed. I am surprised that DCA doesn't pipe in the Believe sound track. As we walked there were several spots where you could see quite well; right at the end of SF (next to Grizz), in front of the Brother Bear play area, and also in the gap between Grand Cal and Cal Soarin.
While waiting for the parade I discovered something - my head was cold. I took off my hat inside the Hyperion to be nice and left it there. So, I got to use the Lost and Found that is now between the parks. At closing of DCA they had 2 people working to handle everything for 2 parks. That is simply insane. After wathcing this for about 15 minutes 2 suits arrived to help. I watched about 15 people in front of me get 'not yet' answers to their lost items. I was one of the lucky ones, there was my blue hat with my new Tink pin I bought for it.
That ended my abbreviated day at DCA. While not the way I wanted to spend the day but was a whole lot better then the way Monday ended.
