Trip Report Mini Transportation trip report

Hi. I love reading all of the trip reports but have never done one. I flew into orlando the day before Thanksgiving to meet my sister and all of her family. Since I landed at 10:35am and they were traveling all day I had decided in advance to go to a park on my own. I researched public transportation (Lynx) and plotted the easiest route and with map and schedules in hand I proceeded to the area where the buses pick you up. $2.00, 2 transfers and 3 Hours (!!!!) later I arrived at Epcot. Yikes! I am not complaining about the public transportation- it was efficient and clean but LONG. Having done that I have calculated that tho I work in a medical business office and am not in Donald Trump's circle...if I am ever in this situation again I will splurge on a taxi and spend those 3 Vacation hours in a park instead of a bus. Haha

I have never been alone in a park and loved it. I got a locker for my heavy backpack and headed to world showcase. I made the loop 3 times and explored stuff I never seem to take time to do because I am usually with my husband, children, grandchildren etc. I ate lunch at the patisserie in france and just enjoyed all the activity going on. I was sorry candlelight processional was not that night cause I would have stood in line for that.

My sister had rented a house nearby as there was 22 of them. Around 630 I headed out of the international gateway and walked the boardwalk to the Beach Club. Loved the chocolate carousel. It was a wonderful night. I walked outside and asked the gentleman in valet parking if I could get a cab there. He graciously got me one and it was only 3 miles to the house.

First ever solo trip (day) but I would do it again. Missed my hubby but he consoled himself by going deer hunting! Thanks for reading.

Sounds like a nice way to start a trip.

Fyi-Mears has vans that go to the WDW and Uni area. They make stops just like the DME, not as quick as a taxi but substantially cheaper.

thank you! I work full time and value what I do when on vacation. I saw the Mears vans near the buses.
