Too soon to start the speculation as to what the "spectacular surprise" at mile 20 will be???
Good idea to put something special at 20. That's where I stop caring.
Good point. When I ran the NY marathon, I hit the wall just before mile 20. I kept running, but I wound up going deep inside myself and did not see or hear anything that was going on around me until about mile 23. It was like I was running in a bubble. As a result, I have absolutely no recollection of running through any of the Bronx.

I have never hit the wall. I have always taken in nutrition from the first 40 minutes on and never had a problem. With that said, I really dont know if I hit the wall in Nashville or not. Same plan as always, but it was so hot, I dont know if it was just exhaustion or hitting the wall. I think I started off to fast that day and wasnt in good enough shape for that pace.Good point.
