Rampage: Destruction Drop will be the first interactive drop tower in the United States giving each guest a cannon to allow guests to shoot at the monsters. Guests enter the ride through the MutantStuff Inc. building the tallest skyscraper in Midway City. In the queue guests tour the facility where it reveals the process of how they make radioactive materials which are solely for dumping into lakes, playgrounds, etc. As guests tour the facility they’ll notice on the TVs news reports about three monsters from three different corners of the world all seemingly approaching Midway City!
At the end of the queue there’s a short pre show where on a large projector screen the history of the company is introduced by head scientist Dr. Veronica. Afterwards she then gives safety information on the elevator that guests are going to ride and introduces the blasters which only exist because the company CEO wanted them on the elevators for no particular reason, but she still introduces how to use them “just in case”. She then wishes us a good rest of our day and hopes that we don’t stumble on any radioactive monsters!
After a short bit of queue guests then board their elevator, where disaster soon strikes. The elevator unexpectedly stops when a giant werewolf monster (known as Ralph) wrecks a hole in the hallway ahead! Guests must shoot at Ralph, as he tries to dodge the fire. After that segment times out where guests may or may not defeat Ralph depending on their skill, the elevator goes to the next floor. Where an ape-like monster (known as George) tries to grab the elevator. Similarly to Ralph, guests must shoot at George, but this time he’ll bring out human shields to try to protect himself. After a set amount of time he will try to run away just like Ralph if they don’t defeat him before it times out. The elevator then zooms up to the top floor where MutantStuff implements their patented technology to make the elevator travel horizontally.
Next guests see Lizzie breathing fire and to stop her they must destroy the rope that’s holding an anvil above her head. Otherwise when the elevator goes straight into her line of fire the elevator’s blasters will malfunction. After reaching the end of the horizontal shaft (where hopefully guests have defeated Lizzie by then), the elevators then start the thrilling, vertical randomized drop sequence. Guests can see great views of the rest of Universal Studios through the smashed holes made by the monsters.
After the end of the drop sequence, just before the unload, whichever Monster that the guests didn’t defeat (or the one with the lowest health) will give guests a second chance to defeat them through a window. Otherwise if they’ve already defeated all the monsters Dr. Veronica will congratulate guests on that screen.
The elevators approach unload where depending on their performance, one of two doors will open to an exit path. The bad exit (if the guests in the elevator didn’t defeat all three monsters or shot too many civilians) will be a destroyed hallway with no ceiling, the aftermath of the monster’s rampage. The other path leads guests through a pristine hallway where it shows a picture of the guests (through the use of a photo taken during the drop sequence) as employee of the month, while a slogan on the wall informs guests that a “good employee is one that keeps their mouth shut, especially if they work for an evil business”. The ride photos are available at their own booth near the ride’s exit in a nice little courtyard filled with dumped radioactive material.
