Mid November - MVMCP and Decorations?

Ok, just returned and booked a BB offer. Going back in mid November, either week of the 8th or 15th. Is MVMCP a must do for everyone? What is the cost and does anyone know when you can purchase tickets? Will most of the Christmas decorations be up during those weeks?

We also booked a BB for the week of the 8th and yes, the decorations will be up alot of places. MVMCP starts that week as well as the Osbourne lights. We liked the Christmas party, but didn't feel like it was worth the extra cost for just some cookies and hot chocolate. The atmosphere was really nice, but they sell sooooo many tickets, it is extremely crowded. If they don't already, I'm sure you will have to book FP's to watch the parade and ride the rides and maybe even get your cookies at some point.

Thanks! I really want to see decorations and I'm not so sure we'd do the party from the feedback I'm seeing on here.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the current BB offer?

No problem. It was 30% off Mods and 35% off Deluxe and Villas. I'd read about people booking it after they came back home but the CM I spoke to asked a thousand questions about if I was there, when I arrived etc. Also, I wanted to book two rooms and had to put one in my name and one in my husband's. She may have been overly particular, I'm not sure.

Another No vote for the party. If you push your arrival ahead a week, even more of the resorts will be decked out for Christmas. Where are you staying? I booked a bb for Nov. 17-23 at WL. Those offers are hard to resist...;)
We are going back to POFQ, we loved it. I priced WL too though. I think I'll see about moving it to the 16th. My dates are dependent on my FIL and time off from his job.

Yeah, it really depends on the agent you get. I had a great one last time.

As for MVMCP...we did it in 2010. I compare it to going to the prom...at least from my experiences ;) I would have wondered if I was missing out if I didn't try it myself, but in the end, it really was no big deal...at least for us.
I love this, this is the perfect way to put it! I think if you have the chance, you should try it once, but it was kind of meh. The Halloween party was much better, IMO.

We checked in for our Nov 2012 trip on Nov 15th. I'm going to attach a link to the TR in case you want to see the decorations.

Thanks. I'll check out the report. I didn't go to my prom, I still wonder about it, so I may just have to go to MVMCP. ;)

If you opt to skip the party, you can still see Holiday Wishes from places like the GF dock, the Poly beach, and the Contemporary. To be perfectly honest...with the perimeter effects on the big shows like that...sometimes the fireworks are better from outside the park. The cookies at the party were pretty tasty, the parade is pretty fun, and most of the CMs were really in the spirit. Still not sure it's really worth it though.

I am one who says the MVMCP was well worth the cost. It is something you have to do once. I did it in 2012 with the grand kids. The parade with the snow coming down on main street is a must see. Since then I have gone back to my September visits and going to the Halloween party instead.

How much are the tickets to MVMCP? Would a prom dress have been cheaper? LOL

Well, that all depends on the prom dress :D

Last year it was around $62/pp for adults and $57 per child.

If it makes any difference...it's less than my prom dresses...but I do like it when things are very VERY sparkly :hilarious:
