Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (not on Christmas)

I noticed that the Christmas Party isn't going on the week of Christmas (Dec 22-28). I am planning my first Christmas trip to 'El World and the Fam is looking forward to some holiday cheer. Is there any particular reason that the party isn't scheduled during that week? Are there any special events that occur the week of Christmas in it's place?

The week of Xmas the xmas parade and xmas fireworks play all week along with snow on Main Street. There is no special party tickets needed just regular admission.

They have everything that week that is usually at the Christmas parties at MK but the party itself won't happen because of how busy the parks will be. Disney usually extends hours too so they won't do a party when they can have more people in the park since the parties limits the amount of people in MK.

Yes this is true. You just won't get some of the extra shows and meet n greets. But parade and fireworks are awesome!!!

I think i actually enjoyed the parade more during the day last Christmas then at night at a party. The colors stand out more!!! either way, the MK is all decorated, the parade is the same and the fireworks are the same as the party. As @tare said, you'll miss out on the extra meet and greets, but pretty much everything else is the same! You are going to love WDW at Christmas time!

And I am not sure what I did but I got an ADR for the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party for Sunday Dec 1st and it is at 8:40... but it says park hours are til 7 pm and I think there is also a MVMCP that night ? SO what does that mean for me exactly ?
