We're going on the 17th!

I must be nuts! Our flight arrives the 17th @ 1:00 pm or so. We'll have to check in and get over to our PS dinner reservations before the party begins. I hope it's the "Must See" everyone has told me!

While I loved our first night of MVMCP which was a Sunday and was not sold out. I really was disappointed with the experience on the last night of MVMCP which was a sold out night. The crowds were nuts. You can get into MK at about 4pm with your MVMCP and without a PS.

I suggest that you guys consider doing counter service instead of a sit down dinner and take advantage of the 4 pm entrance time to take in a few rides and soak up some magic. I have no idea if you are interested in seeing the shows or riding the rides or a little of both. I can say that the parade and Wishes are not to be missed. Maggie

I think we'd like to focus on whatever is unique to the event. We should have plently of time to hit the regular stuff throughout our vacation. Will we have the time to catch all the special stuff? I've heard hitting every show is unlikely and I guess we'll be there the "most" crowded date. What do you remember as being the not to miss activities? My daughters will be 8 & 12. Is there any special Lion King things? We really miss the Lion King show they replaced with Philharmonic.

We did the PS at LTT because I had heard it's the best way to get a jump on the crowd in that part of MK. Apparently everyone else waits in Tomorrowland? It was suggested that we get our photo right off the bat when the party starts to get that wait out of the way.

I went to MVMCP last year it was fun and great to be in the
Magic Kingdom at night with all the Christmas lights.
The Fireworks are the best and first class worth going
just for them. Then the show are a lot of fun to see.
Now the bad news the hot coco is just ok at best and
so are the cookies just ok.But I love the hole night.

We're just as nuts!!! Our flight will be arriving about 10:30 am. We plan to have a late lunch and hang out at Wilderness Lodge and hope for a early check-in. :xmas:

The best parts are the snow on Main Street and the Christmas parade which usually runs in teh daytime is doen at night. Much more Christmassy in the cool night air. Same with teh shows, seeing them at night adds a little spirt to the holiday.

The other thing I like, is the family takes out 5 minutes to take a formal portrait. Kind of forces all the teens and their friends who have spread out over the park to get together and acknowledge the family unit.

....snow.....

I was just reading on another thread about how great the snow is after Candlelight Processional. You all are really too much! I'm from Michigan...Northern Michigan! We're going to WDW for X-mas to get away from the snow! :xmas:

Am I assuming correctly that the shows at MVMCP are the same shows presented every day? The main additions are the SNOW, modifications to parade and fireworks, hot chocolate/cookies, and photo op.

I've been to a lot of MVMCPs over the years. I can say without a doubt that if you can catch one on a weeknight rather than Friday, you will have a lot more fun.

I caught a Friday and the following Tuesday for 2003. Friday was so packed, we left early. I've never seen one that crowded before. It basically sucked and was a waste of $100.

My wife talked me in to going back on Tuesday and it was TOTALLY different. After the first parade, it was a toilet flushed and the whole park emptied.

Next year will be a week day for sure.

I've heard that, but we're arriving on the 17th. We already moved the trip up a day so I could surprise hubby with segway tour the am of the 18th. We'll have to be mentally prepared for the crowd and make the best of it. Any not to miss special things we should focus on besides the second parade and fireworks?

Hmmmm, we are flying down on the 3rd and are planning on going to MVMCP on either Friday the 3rd (which will really be cutting it close since we won't land in Orlando til 4) or Sunday the 5th. Which one would be the better choice?

We went on a Friday last year and it was packed.

Please advise.

Sundays are as far as crowds are Pack The best night
for MVMCP would be the 7 the crowd is not that bad.
I will be there from Dec 5 to 11 I can't wait.
This year is my 22 year going most at Christmas time
I love it and this year the Osborne lights are back at
DisneyMGM its a must see if you have not.

Another hint.

We have gone 5 times over 7 years. Each time we went in the last week, usually teh last night. Florida weather seems to cooperate and it has been cold on all of our visits except one. One year the temperature got down to 32 degrees - maybe too cold. Being a northerner now living in FLorida, going to the MVMCP on a cold night really helps us to get into the Holiday Spirit. I guess those coming from up north wouldn't like it, but we "Floridians" did.

Bring a jacket.

So Friday and Sunday will both be bad? I'm just trying to pick
the night with lesser crowds.

I don't mind the cold. In 2002 a monsoon struck and our MVMCP was rained out, they gave us 1 day hopper passes in exchange.
