Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Hey there, I'm going to be at WDW the 1st week of October and had planned on attending the party-is it worth the extra $$? Also, I was curious if anyone knows how many tickets are sold for each night if it sells out so often. I've called Disney to try to get the answer to this question-the 1st person I talked to said they thought it was 20,000. Noone else I've asked had an answer. If they sell 20,000 tickets for this "party", is it not just a complete madhouse? Just curious and wanting some opinions from those who've been. My 5 year old nephew will be with us.

Thanks

I was at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party last year on a sold-out night. While they don't release the exact figures of what "sold out" is, I've heard the 20,000 number as well.

While there were a decent amount of people in the park, it wasn't crowded. I've been there on regular days with much larger numbers of people. (Not including things like NYE where there's a psychotic amount of people.)

The biggest problem for the Christmas party was the lack of food locations. Almost all counter service was closed, leaving only a handful of places to get food. Carts were scattered around, but the longest lines by far was for something like a hotdog at Casey's.

I've never been to the Halloween party (not for lack of interest) but I'd do the Christmas one again in a heartbeat.

It is definitely worth the extra money and yes on the nights they sell out it is crowded but not unbearably so. The busiest land is Fantasyland but even that, as the evening gets later, thins out. Ususally the days that sell out are Fridays and Halloween itself. If you can go during the week you'll avoid the crowds and have a great time. Don't miss the "Headless Horseman".

On an average day in MK there are usually about 30,000 people in the parks, so 20,000 isn't bad at all and not everyone stays the entire time. Most folks with little ones will leave after the fireworks. It is definitely worth going to, trick or treating in the parks, I love it. You can check out www.allearsnet.com for more information.

We went last year (Sun, Oct 2 party) and it was great! Everything was a walk on and at the end of the night they were dumping the candy into our trick or treat bags :) This year we are planning on going to the parties on 9/30 and 10/2. If you are into charchters there were lots of charchters dressed in costumes, lots of villians out, Snow White and all of her dwarves were out by the Snow White attraction. I know last year that the Friday Oct 8 party was sold out (I think because it was Colmbus Day weekend and a lot of schools had fall breaks then!). We did not dress in costumes, but a lot of folks did.
