This thread here picks up from where another leaves off: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/...circus-feedback-and-critiques-welcome.836057/. I'm doing a new thread because most of the posts there had been made by me back to back.

Anyway, as you probably know, my idea for Mickey's Fun House is to have it as a way to make up for the loss of Toontown Fair. I had read that an early forerunner to this concept, Mickey's Mad House, thought of for Disneyland's planned Dumbo's Circusland, was thought of long before Mickey's Toontown ever came into being. It was going to be a combination wild mouse coaster and dark ride. But the concept for Mickey's Fun House will tone it down to a general dark ride, done something like Toy Story Midway Mania with various scenes of various Disney characters (from the shorts and such) doing various circus things. It's going to be a ride with sideshow things. I had just read some information on the upcoming Pete's Silly Sideshow meet-n-greet thing. Maybe we could use the scenes from this concept as a part of the ride. I will explain more later.

Right now, what are your thoughts?

As promised, here is the information I found on Pete's Silly Sideshow: it will be in the red tent and be special meet-n-greet for most of Mickey's friends in a circus setting, but not Mickey himself, who is still on Main Street. Here are some pictures below:

So, I thought these could be scenes for Mickey's Fun House now. The only question is, how can both this meet-n-greet and my dark ride coexist? And even if I could scrap the meet-n-greet, where would all the characters go?

Well your dark ride is only a figment in your imagination so just imagine buying more land for your dark ride...

Well, it's not merely a matter of where to put the ride. I've kinda got a location in mind, taking over part of the Speedway (I imagine that would make a lot of fans happy; the other part of the Speedway could be used for a Tomorrowland attraction of some kind).

Actually, the main sticking point with me is that both attractions, this dark ride and the meet-n-greet, have characters depicted the same way, as you can see by the pictures above. However, for obvious reasons, the ride will have those characters and more. My main question is, if we got rid of the meet-n-greet, what could replace it and where else would the characters, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy, go? I ask this because I just think that having two of the same kind of thing in the same section might be overdoing it a bit and confuse guests in the process.

I'm still grappling with the concept of having classic Mickey cartoons depicted in the ride. Also, as I said before, the ride is based on an abandoned attraction concept with very little information to go on that would be really helpful. Without a lot of information, I don't think this concept is going to get much anywhere. Here's some more information on the original Mickey's Mad House concept, courtesy of a calendar from D23:

Dumbo's Circusland, which was on the drawing boards at Imagineering before Toontown was conceived, featured "Mickey's Madhouse" - essentially a "wild mouse" roller coaster in a dark ride environment, set in the world of early black-and-white Mickey Mouse cartoons (think Mulholland Madness at Disney's California Adventure, but indoors, with no clear view of where the track ahead was going).

So that's what this attraction is based on, a new version of an abandoned attraction concept. Notice where it said "before Toontown was conceived"; with Toontown Fair gone, this attraction would help restore references to the classic Disney shorts in the Magic Kingdom. The only thing I would remove from my version of the attraction, besides the "Mad" being replaced with "Fun", is the roller coaster aspect; it will now be just a regular dark ride. But I have very little information to go on for this attraction, so can anyone help me?

Oh, and here's a piece of concept art for Mickey's Mad House, the original name for the ride I have in mind:

So can anyone help me, please?
