I was planning to go to mvmcp Dec2 sun night. Should I spend the day at MK or all the rides available during this party? The $33 admission does include park access? I would appreciatte any information regarding mvmcp. I will be there nov 28th thru dec 4th. Open to suggestion.

Most rids are open but no all. This is a historical answer and must be taken with a grain of salt as WDW is in the process of changing many things. My personal experience with MVMCP was great. There were a lot of people there but we really did not have to wait long for any rides. THe parade was good and the atmosphere is wonderful. We travel with small children so we usually do AK on MVMCP day so we can go to the room and get a nap before we head to MVMCP. We are going on Nov 30th this year.

Have fun.

My advice is to see the Very Merry Christmas Party at least once in your life. We will be there the week after your trip and have been going to WDW in December for the past 4 years. As for the ride lines, they are no worse than a weekend day; Main St. seems to be especially crowded for the Christmas Parade. I personally get very claustrophobic. I hope you have a great time no matter what your decision! The Christmas holiday season is definitely the best time to go to Disney World. :D

Hey we are going to WDW Dec 13 to the 20 and I can't wait. I think we are going to skip the MVMCP because we have a 8 month old and it would just be too much for her. (There is always other years :) What other things about December make it speical? (not the offical wdw info, I read that already. ) Do they do a speical parade for day visitors and does it cut into the other parade schdule? Really I just wanted to brag and share the good news about going. It also seem that I am the thread slayer (every time I respond, that seems to be it for the thread, dead in its tracks.) I am trying not to take it personally!!!!!!!:dazzle: Anyway, who else is going over Christmas. We should have our own WDW magic party and all meet somewhere!!!!!!

We will be going for Christmas but are leaving here on Nov 16 and will leave WDW on Dec 2. Christmas stuff goes up on Nov 23. The Christmas touches are all over. There is a Christmas train at the Studios that is a replica of the Hollywood Hills. Decorations, trees, snow, Christmas Music everywhere. All of the parks and resorts are decked out. There is no better place to get in the Christmas spirit. We even bring lights and decorate our resort room. There is no more magical time than Christmas at WDW. It is just the best.

We're going for the first time to WDW and will arrive 11/30/01. We're staying at the All Stars Movie resort. I like the idea about the Christmas lights. I'll plan to bring a couple of nice strings. I've been looking at all the guides and I think this is a good time to go. Any suggestions from you "experienced" folks would be more than welcome. We have reservations for a week with options for 1 or 2 more. I keep telling my husband that 1 week for our first trip will be enough. I don't expect to see everything in a week. What we don't see this trip, we can see on our next visit. Are there any "must sees"? Thank you.

It's hard to say what the must sees are. You have to go to Fantasmic of course. You must see the night time show at EPCOT, can't remember what they are calling it this year. Since you are going at Christmas time, you need to see the Osborne lights at MGM and the candlelight processional at EPCOT. Just do as much as you can. Don't rush yourself. We started off going for four days when there were three parks and are now up to 17 days including 4 WDW parks, Universal and IOA and Sea World. You can always find activities to fill the available time.

First Time

Thank you for the helpful advice. I have heard that rushing around trying to see everything is a big mistake. I do intend to follow your advice and marked my list with those attractions you suggested. I have heard mixed reports concerning the transportation system. In your experience, would you say the bus system is good or bad or both! Thank you.

I don't use the bus system. I drive. I don't want to wait in line just to get back to my resort. I feel that there are too many people and not enough buses.

I love the bus system, granted it's not perfect nor better than a personal chauffeur. We really enjoy being able to go everywhere and not deal with a car, parking, etc. If you're on a strict schedule to see and do everything it may not work well.

I agree that rushing to see everything is a HUGE mistake. We like to make being on vacation relaxing. Disney is great for letting them take care of you. Take your time and enjoy that someone else is getting you everywhere.

We like to take our time to see and do lots of different things everyday. We'll bus to MK, then monorail to Epcot, walk to Boardwalk, then boat to MGM, bus to DTD, then boat home to Dixie Landings. That's a lot of driving with your own car.

The bus drivers, particularly at the end of the day, can be entertaining themselves.

sorry, about drifting a bit.

Bus drivers

Thank you Ranger Woodlore. I have heard some stories about the Disney bus drivers. I hear that they tell jokes and do Disney trivia games sometimes. I also heard that they sometimes relate some very sarcastic humor to the guests. I'm very glad that you posted your message. I would very much like to hear a bus driver tell a sarcastic joke about Disney management! I'm taking the bus Ranger!

Holidays at the parks!

:) Hello to all of you coming to this magical place for the holidays!
I am an annual passholder, and I go to Mickeys very merry every year. I feel that it is the highlight of the holiday season. I also went to the official opening of the Osborne lights at MGM on Wednesday, and it is a great kick-off to the holiday season for me. I think it is a can't miss event. I went to Animal Kingdom yesterday, and Triceratops spin is adorable, and over in Camp Minnie Mickey they are all decked out for the holidays, and the caracters at the meet and greet are dressed n their holiday costue. For those wanting good Christmas card photos, now is definately the time! I am at the parks about once a week, and I can tell you that you will be able to see the Christmas parade during the day starting on the 19th I
believe. The holidays are a mgical time, and please pace your day to try to enjoy it all! I love this time of year!:)

HOLIDAYS

Last year was the first time I had been to WDW at Christmas time (first week in December) and we didn't see MVMCP, but we are going this year at Christmas time (11 days and counting) and have our tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Chrisstmas Party for December 6th.

My friends and I are looking forward to it, and also seeing the Osborne Christmas Lights again at MGM. I can't wait..

:sohappy:
