Mickey Mouse GPS doll?

Can someone give me info on the Mickey Mouse 'toy' that supposedly has a GPS in it and/or talks, etc. and can later be used to play special cds, etc.?

We're going on our first family trip in 42 DAYS :ROFLOL:!!!! A coworker mentioned seeing this and I remember reading about it here somewhere but can't find it.

Actually, anyone know the current (if there are any left) or most recent price of the Pal Mickey? I'm reconsidering if I can find one at retail...

Almost overnight, the remaining stock sold out after the announcement of the discontinuation. Now they sell for well over $100 on ebay. Which stinks because I really wanted the third version to complete my collection.

Pal Mickey will still work though if you do happen to buy him from a third party. They just don't sell him anymore in the parks.

It was a great idea, Pal Mickey. If they were able to update the doll it would have been a prefect idea imo. I have the 3ed edition and bring it on every trip.

I love my Pal Mickey! I especially like to put him in his Santa suit and take him to WDW at Christmas time. I don't mind if he doesn't give information anymore, he's still so cute!

We have a first edition. We had been told he would auto update. When that did not happen we stopped by and a CM did a live update. He still talks about ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. He has made more trips than I have as he gets to go back home when our family and friends go.

The original wording on the packages was VERY misleading. The Pal Mickey never updated and never was going to. The only "updates" he does is that he gets the daily signals for the parade times to remind you. It's not a true update, just that they tell the system what time to send out the message for that day.

The old documentation made it seem like he was going to get new content but that was never actually the plan. It's a one-way system and they never planned to have him actually wirelessly download and install new content. So yeah, the original version still talks about Alien Encounter and always will.
