Disney is to launch its new CGI preschool series on Disney and Playhouse Disney channels across North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Japan.

In a coordinated global launch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse series will premiere on May 6, with the aim of introducing a new generation of kids to the likes of Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald Duck in 3D. The series is also guided by music, interactivity and a curriculum designed to introduce problem-solving and mathematics in a fun way.

That is good stuff. My daughter is two and loves Playhouse Disney. Her favorite character is JoJo and she went crazy when she saw her last year at MGM. She recognizes all Disney characters, but that is probably more because I am raising her right. It will be great to see the "classic" characters for a new generation.

I like the idea of introducing Mickey to the little ones... but I sincerely hope nothing is lost in the translation on to the preschool television scene.
