Hello all! This is my first thread.
I was sitting at the Orlando International Airport on my back home from our food and wine Disney trip and overheard a guy talking on the phone about making a new parade/show for magic kingdom. He used Michael Manns name several times as producer when speaking of sending emails about the planning. Also talked a lot about filming and camera angles. Maybe for a televised parade? Anyone heard anything in regards to this info?

Depends. Is there a reenactment of the bank robbery from the movie heat?

They also mentioned several times that it would upset parade fanatics because it wasn't gonna be the traditional parade down Main Street. They wanted to show off the whole park and have it be more about the entertainment and not just the floats.

Now that I reread what you had written? I am 95% sure they are referring to the Christmas parade taping.

I can't imagine a parade at MK that doesn't use mainstreet, though would be nice if they could incorporate some of New Fantasy Land or Tommorrowland into a parade route.

Not sure thats physically possible though.

They have more then one park they already go back and forth between DL and MK they could easily so the floats in their home parks instead of moving them to MK and DL for the parade. They could also mean they will be showing off more of the shows and performances around the parks instead of just the castle stage performances by the stars.

One of the head producers for the Christmas parade was scoping out New Fantasyland yesterday with a guest relations cast member at his side. He was taking a lot of photographs and no additional people travelling with him.

I do recall a few years ago that imagineers (I think) were saying they were looking at giving New Fantasyland some Christmas decorations when it was complete (can't find links, sorry). Could this be related, now that the fully complete FLE is gearing up for its first Christmas?

Michael Mann? Seems a little silly an accomplished director will be doing a parade at Disney World. I look forward to the pastels and music inspired action scenes.

Were they scoping the place out? Was Robert de Niro with them?
