One of my earliest memories of WDW is watching Micheal Iceberg at the Tomorrowland Terrace (now Cosmic Ray's). When was the last time he played at WDW? I see from his website that he's still performing. It would be great to see him back in Tomorrowland!

Sonny Eclipse is simply fantastic! Wonder how long his performance loop is? Because every time i eat there i can't recall hearing the same thing twice.

If only all live performers were as entertaining as him!

I saw Michael Iceberg perform at the Magic Kingdom back in the day. I have the album (actual 33 RPM record album) Iceberg Does It Live. It was recorded during his 100th week at the Magic Kingdom. Very innovative for its time. He had a lot of sample sounds like dogs barking, cows, etc. He had a synth that sounded like an actual guitar, not synthesized. He works in a few Disney tunes during his performance (MSEP theme and It's A Small World).

So would he just perform at lunch time or would be sell out proper evening shows? How often would he perform? Just interested in how he worked.

Is Cosmic Ray's the same bulding and layout as the previous place there?

I remember seeing his performances while sitting and having lunch. I'm sure my Dad has pictures at his house. Very cool and high-tech for that time.

Michael Iceberg and his Iceberg machine are one of the things of the past WDW that I miss most. The Tomorrowland Terrace was packed when he played. I remember going to see him all the time as a kid in the 1970s and my parent and us 3 kids would have to stand around waiting for a table to open. After grabbing a table you often had to then wait for additional chairs.

Sonny is a sad, sad, sad replacement. I can't stand the guy. Michael Iceberg was fantastic. I highly recommend going to his website and purchase the CD Iceberg Does it Live. It was recorded at the Tomorrowland Terrace for his 100th week playing there in 1979. It was amazing what he could do with his Iceberg Machine.

When I ordered he had a delay and sent me a nice hand written note and a copy of some new music he was working on called Friday Night Fever. Nice guy and great performer.

If my memory is correct he would play on certain days and a few times that day. There were dinner and lunch shows. He also played the opening of Epcot though I did not get to go to that sadly.

The stage if I remember correctly was a little off more to the right if you are facing Sonny now. The stage would rise out of the floor, as well as being cool there was no other real way to have him get to stage anyway as he would have to walk through the place as the stage was against an exterior wall.

His stye is very Rick Wakeman like though I like Michael better.

The full Sonny Eclipse loop is about 26 minutes long, I believe.

Edit: Though I see someone beat me to it. :p

I too have fond memories of Michael Iceberg from the 70's. My family would always have lunch in Tomorrowland to hear him play. I actually have all 3 of his CDs, and they are quite good (although the Live CD is the most Disney related).

Was this supposed to be any kind of pun on Michael Eisner?

Not unless he could see in to the future. Iceberg played way before Eisner was a glimmer in Disney Productions' eye. Whenever he played at MK, I made a point to get my parents, neighbors, friend's parents, etc (preety much anyone who would take me) to the park. He was amazing back then, but did not know he was still around. Will have to google him later.
