EISNER QUERIES IRK PAT
By TIM ARANGO

June 18, 2006 -- TELEVISION preacher Pat Robertson was a little irked after being challenged by Michael Eisner, the former Disney boss-turned-talk show host, on several topics, including whether or not Jewish people go to heaven.

Robertson, who most recently made headlines by claiming to have leg-pressed 2,000 pounds, had his p.r. handler e-mail CNBC executives last week following a taping for "Conversations With Michael Eisner," according to network sources.

The e-mail, a copy of which was obtained by On The Money, complained: "The interview was not at all what we expected. Mr. Eisner covered the business end of things as promised, but then challenged Dr. Robertson on some extremely controversial political issues including gay rights, Hugo Chavez and whether or not Jewish people go to heaven.

"We were all very disappointed that Mr. Eisner chose to go in this direction."

Eisner and Robertson have clashed in the past, most notably when Robertson attacked Disney for offering health benefits for the partners of gay employees and allowing a "Gay Days" weekend at Disney World.

In addition, Robertson founded The Family Channel, which was first sold to News Corp. and then Disney.

Last year Robertson called for the assassination of Venezuelan President Chavez on his long- running TV show "The 700 Club."

Eisner's interview with Robertson is part of the fourth episode of his talk show, and will air Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. Eisner also interviews Whoopi Goldberg on the show.

Previous interviews have included Martha Stewart, Billy Crystal and Sony chief Howard Stringer.

ha!
Eisner was pretty low on my list after the direction that the company took in the last few years, but he totally just scored a couple points, go Mikey!

Does anyone else find the fact that Michael Eisner is on TV interviewing people kind of funny? I was watching his show and could only think about the movie "Casino" and how Sam Rothstein was forced out of the daily running of the hotel by the authorities and decided to host a television variety show where he interviewed people. Similarities abound.

Off topic a bit. But Michael Eiser bought a company today, or within the pst few days. I'll try to find it on the web.

Former Walt Disney Co. chairman and CEO Michael Eisner is leading a new team. The executive’s investment vehicle, The Tornante Company, has acquired Team Baby Entertainment, a Houston-based startup that produces DVDs based on college sports teams for the infant and toddler market.

Sounds like someone is getting desperate for ratings. I would expect Michael to start paternity tests on his show any day now.

Charles Manson has more credibility than Pat Robertson. I've even go as far as saying Manson is LESS crazy than 'ole Pat.

Anyone who takes this schill to task scores major points in my book.

Thank you Mikey for leaving Disney and humiliating evil people in your retirement.

I am a Christian, grew up in Fundamental Christian denominations which are Pat's bread and butter. Even I think Pat is a crazy man. Most Christians who I respect do as well. How he has any credibility anymore, especially after his claim to have leg pressed 2000 lbs is beyond me.
