MGM's Flick MIA??

Greetings all from the labs

Found this last weekend when I was done taking the photos of the New York street rehab.

Flick is gone!!!!! Did Hopper get him finally ,or was the wise little ant just needing a vacation from all those photo ops?

Maybe he 'got broke' and they are just repairing him?
I have a bunch of pictures with my son standing next to Flick.
I hope he's not gone for good.

He was probably attending a planning meeting for "A Bug's Land" at Disney's Animal Kingdom, since "Flick's Fun Fair" is a major part of that.

I don't know that looks a lot like a burn mark to me. Maybe some mean spirited child found a gigantic magnifying glass laying around.

In all seriousness pieces like Flik are often removed for maintenance, and repainting. I remember a few years ago when the two gigantic Kermit statues outside Stage One Company Store were gone for several months. And the fire engine goes all the time.

I was at MGM in late July and saw him on the Backlot Tour. He was in a cage with paint and lumber. It was on the backside of the tour. He was getting repainted. He was sort of faded, but he was getting a new coat. All the little kids on the tour said, "Look, it's Flick, mom!" He should be back soon. Hope I helped.

Yes, I just took the backlot tour yesterday, and I seen him in the maintenance area right after the blue walls. He was all freshly painted and everything.

Flik was back in place today, as good as new.

Hurrah! And i think that rust spot is just the metal plate fixed in the ground where they bolt him down.

Yep... I saw him around July 15th... He was just standing there... I didn't make it over to see if it was the, um, the same Flik as the one at HISTK... But, alas, it was. Glad to hear that he found his way home!!!


PS to Kenan: I'm that freak who turned around and hollered at you and spoke with you after I got off TT on Friday... LOL...

They should really do something about that spot. I remember when something like that used to be called "bad show." Alright, I really don't remember, but it sounded good.
