I seem to recall years ago I found a key under a mat that was supposed to be for the Muppet Theatre...also my Dad found some boxes or crates somewhere in the studios that said "Do Not Open" so of course he did but my sister was bawling her eyes out for some reason so I never saw what was inside...actually I don't even remember asking my Dad about them later, there was just to much drama going on at the time

Sooooo....was I hallucinating these things...do they exist and are they still there to be "discovered" by curious guests?

The boxes were in the store that is at the exit of the Backlot Tour. I remember playing with them on my first trip back in 1989. They made silly cartoonish sounds when opened.

I believe they were originally put there to coincide with "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" The steamroller from that movie is still there. http://198.65.141.39/mgm/mickey/Mgm-Mickey-Roller.jpg

Anyone know if the boxes are still there too?

I think I remember the boxes, but I don't know if they are still there. I'll have to remember to check when I go a month.

Yep...the key is still there...or at least, it should. It's by the entrance, near a security-looking booth thing (i think)...just look for a mat on the floor and lift it up. The key is stuck to the floor.

They didn't need to get rid of them, granted WFRR is very much out of the minds of younger kids but the boxes could function independantly of the theming.

Scary Noise Boxes are still there as of Jan 05. Not like anyone else is still posting to this though- the dates are from back on 04. Anyway, I loved playing with the boxes when I was working there and got bored. A fun thing to do, find a kid, tell him you are having trouble opening a nouise box and ask if he can do it for you. When he opens it, it will make the sound and either creep him out, or make him laugh and feel special. *shrug* Fun Fun

I'll have to check for the key when we go in the spring! Fun tip!

The Roger Rabbit stuff reminded me (and I don't know if it's still there, this was 1992) I had my photo taken next to a brick wall that looked like Roger Rabbit had broken through. It was his shape and you could see right through the wall. Just brought that memory back!
